CF crashes if I download new music into my library while CF is running.
I have a subscription to Yahoo music, which I use to load my car PC with music. If I download a track while CF is running, CF crashes.
Nothing is written to the error log at all.
I can reproduce this using the following steps. - start centrafuse
- start playing some music in cf
- start up yahoo music engine
- start downloading an album

I highly doubt this is a CF issue. Its probably because you have 2 media players running at the same time, the Yahoo Jukebox and CF.
You can check if there is any error logs for the Yahoo music jukebox or rhapsody. Thats if they even have one...
Also, check to see if there is a new version of the software.

I'm using the latest version of the yahoo music app. The yahoo app doesn't crash, just CF. And, I discovered another important detail, it only crashes if you are downloading music to the folder that CF is currently playing. For example, I may be downloading additional songs from an album or something.
Yes, I can reproduce this on any machine I've tried.

Sounds like an open file handle on your music folder.
Try stopping playing your music in CF and then doing your download.

:whathesaid: Try to do some more testing to we can narrow this down. Does it have to be playing, does it still crash when CF has the mucsic paused, but still loaded, etc...

Note- this problem seems to be partially fixed in 2.0rc1. If I download while I'm playing a track in the same folder, CF now tries to launch some drm page on yahoo, but it does not crash.

Does yahoo embed DRM in its files? It could be that CF doesn't know how to interpret this.

Yes, the tracks are DRM'd. CF plays them just fine, though, as long as I keep the license current.

I think I know what this might be...
we do support DRM from yahoo btw...
there is a file watching utility that auto imports music into the Centrafuse library if the files are copied while Centrafuse is running...
so basically you can minimize Centrafuse, and copy a bunch of files from your network, and not have to rebuild your library...
since you are downloading to that folder, it is trying to open the file right when the download starts to read the tag information probably before it's finished...
will think on that one, best way to solve it... maybe an option to disable the file watcher...
