Navigation - Keyboard

Hi David,
I found a strange bug on my system (CF 1.46).
After installing a USB Keyboard I could use it for everything in CF where a Keyboard entry is possible.
Except for the Navigation part.
As soon as I try to enter a city or a street name CF doesn't accept any entry from the USB Keyboard.
The Touchscreen OSK is working.

Hi David,
After a while playing with the system I have seen that this problem appears only on my Car PC.
On my Desktop PC it works without any problem.
The issue is not related to the USB Keyboard.
The strange thing is that only when entering the GPS Section of CF the keyboard function stops after some seconds.
It seems that unlike of the rest of CF the Navigation part has a different Keyboard handling.
Have you a clue where or what I could do to bring this back in operation?

Hi David,

I found the reason for the problem.
To summarize the issue.
IN CF you are able to scroll through the different menu with the Tab and arrow down key.
When entering the Navigation Section the arrow down key functionality stops after some seconds.
This bug could be reproduced by either choose in the General Configuration Screen the option Fullscreen or choosing the same resolution as the screen has.

It's an issue on all screens related to the Navigation part.
Means the Navigation screen itself and all the sub menus.
Like the dialog screens and the listview screens.
Give it a try. Choose on your destop PC the option fullscreen.
Then click on Navi and immediate start to press the arrow down key.
You will see for 1 to 2 seconds you could scroll to the menu and it stops.
Then change the resolution back to a non fullscreen format and you will see it works.

Keyboard (not OSK) dosen't work correctly in Navigation

I've tried this on my CarPC and home Pc and get similar results.

If I try to use my DiNovo Mini Keyboard in the car to enter an address in Nav it will only type the first letter after I touch the field, then will not enter anymore text.

At home, on my HP laptop (with regular keyboard not Dinovo), it will type a letter after I touch the field. In order to keep entering text I have to keep clicking the field between every letter I type. Also if I wait a few seconds after clicking the field, it won't enter any text. Which is probably the reason why I can only get one letter in the car. I guess I'm not fast enough with the typing and tapping.

Keyboard works great everywhere else, just doesn't work in NAV. If I were to guess I'd say it was losing focus after every letter as it tries to find the most relevant city/street. I don't know if this would be considered a bug, if it isn't please move this post to the appropriate forum.
