You should be able to get some basic information, I have a -99 audi s3 wich is basically the same car, and I can get readouts from pretty much all the sensors that are displayed in centrafuse.
(even though it only worked for around 10-20 seconds before i lost connection) you should be able to get faultcodes for the engine aswell.
I had a obd2 interface wicih allowed me to change settings in the bios and if I changed the "Header value" i could get faultcodes for other cu's aswell, like abs, hvac and so on.
In short, your car supports obd2 commands, so yes with the right cable you can use centrafuse for readouts etc.
But for full redouts and programming of different functions in your car you need, a licensed Vag-com software and a interface with K/L KK/L -mode.
