CD-Rom doesn't work in CF

I don't know why, I tried CF before putting it inside the car and everything was ok (my system is: Epia M 10k 512MB 2,5"80GB HDD external USB 2.0 CD/DVD-ROM and external USB 2.0 3,5" 160GB), but with a fresh OS install inside the car CD/DVD-ROM works with OS and Windows Media Player but not with CF. CF see the drive and play the songs (song time runs) but there is no sound. Maybe another problem caused by installing the codec Pack? It's the only difference with the previous OS installation.
Any Idea?

Ooops!
In windows mixer CD was muted, it's strange that I played it using WMP.
