We are receiving the events from the HDRadio driver, but you have some kind of hardware problem. This is output from the driver dll:

HDRADIO Com Error: Queue timed out, NO response from tuner on last command

It's not software related, not sure what you can try. How is it being powered?

It is wired directly to the car's power supply.

And so far it has only happened when the buffer is enabled.

I have to take that back. Today it happened with the buffer off. Sigh...

If it really is a flaw with the Visteon HD Radio, it would be very much appreciated if CF can be modified to just try a second time to reinitialize the radio, and if that fails to give an error dialog with a button to manually try again. Much better than restarting CF, especially while driving.

Thanks,
John

will add that to the list to look into, probably is a good idea to keep trying to reinit after it fails... possibly for next update, which is coming soon...

closing thread as I am 99.9% sure this is a hw/power issue.

Please post the id ea in the suggestions forums, and you can post in the general help forums for help on hw issues... Maybe even contact Mitch would be a good idea...

Scott, do the following 2 facts change your opinion?

1.) Even setting the radio resume delay to 20 seconds did not help. It's as if the radio code may be doing some initialization before the delay period has elapsed.

2.) For a week instead of just letting CF put Windows into Standby when I turned off my car, I instead exited CF and then turned off my car (which puts Windows into Standby). The problem *never* occurred.

I'll ask Mitch to take a look at this thread.

hmmm. we added some code where you can try to re-init the radio by touching any radio button when it has not initted correctly after standby, so after next update we can get more of an idea by looking at the log again...
