Hibernation hang with ADS/Silabs Radio

What were you doing when you encountered the bug

Steps:
Open CF
Play Media
Play Radio
Back to Media (autoplay starts)
Hibernate via removing key (using a m2-ATX)
Put key back in:-
System reumes from hibernate
Music plays
Screen non responsive for approx 2-3 minutes - then becomes responsive again.

If I disable radio it resumes fine (apart from a separate bug that I'll file soon!)

we will need a system report for this one, for sure...

make sure to enable logging, then create this issue, then create the system report and attach it...

we need the report for sure... also what is the type of Radio you have?

it seems like on resume that it is taking your radio 2-3 minutes to initialize, which is making your system feel like it is hanging...

Will do - I thought init errors too, I'm using an ADS stick modified with a motorola connector and flashed with the "fixed" firmware discussed so heavily on digital-car (essentially a silabs firmware with a small modification!).

When I'm back in the car will run a report off onto a usb stick.

I can verify in your log that there is a delay, over a minute, when the radio is initialized on resume from hibernation...

I will need to see if first this is just how long this radio takes to intialize and if other users are having this issue...

the problem happens on resume when the following is called on the radio...

just verified, this is a possible issue in the ADS/Silabs Radio driver... we will look into improving it to make it faster as soon as possible... we are not sure how much faster we will be able to make it, the device does take a longer than others to initialize...

I have a Silabs radio in all my car PC's and no delays with starting back up from hibernation, it's been faultless, so possibly an issue with the drivers with only that particular hardware or firmware release ?

Just thought that might help give you an insight into other Silabs users if it's of use.

fresh install of vista...was recently running prefect under xp...none of the buttons for the radio work....but radio works fine if i use the silabs application.
