Xmod does not work well with CF

Hello:
I got Creative XMOD after I read good comments about it here.

I can't see it's perfect but it's good , but it seems strange somehow.
I first tried it on my laptop , volume button was not working.
I tried it in my car PC I found that it's working with some players only.

It was fine with real player ,

It didn't work with CF unfortunately. the select and volume have no effect at all.

I wonder why. and how to make it work it all players?

Do you have the Xmod selected as your soundcard, in Windows and in CF, in all scenarios?

Yes , I found that Xmod buttons work only with a player is active (winamp, realplayer, itunes, WMP)

and once CF is the active windows the buttons don't work.

Something isn't right then. I used to have the Xmod and it worked fine in Centrafuse. Do you have the Xmod selected as your soundcard in CF settings?

Also, open the Windows Mixer: does the master slider move up and down when you turn the knob on the Xmod?

Do you have CF run as system shell?
