G4 Radio Exernal Soundcard

Hi,

Let me preface by saying thats it is generally accepted that using the inbuilt Infill radio with an external soundcard just plain don't work.

However this isn't strictly true.

VW Passat 08

You can get radio through an external sound device but the quality is very ordinary to say the least. It sounds like it has taken distortion to the nth degree. Even though all the volume streams are turned down.

Can anyone answer why the sound is so bad ? Is it completely unfeasible technically for CF to process this stream so it sounds decent, or is this just due to the team (fantastic job on CF2 incidently) not having dedicated any time to supporting this.

It would be awesome if this could work, as the sound from the G4 is pretty ordinary in my experience (lots of buzzing and other audio artifacts). Even after I asked cartft to replace my original G4.

how about the audio outside of Centrafuse?

If you exit Centrafuse and listen to the audio, how does it sound?

Hi,

Hi playback within CF is fine for everything except the inbuilt Infill radio. Do you mean trying to play back the Infill Radio outside of CF ? If so can someone point me in the right direction on how to achieve this.

Unfortunately, I don't think that what you are trying to do is possible with the G4.

The G4 radio is built in to use the onboard sound card.

Currently, we don't know of any way to change that.

I use the G4 with a USB "Audio Advantage" sound card and the radio sound quality is fine.

I also listen to my G4's radio through an external USB soundcard. Works a treat. (I have radio buffering enabled).

Though, I do wish the G4's radio receiver sensitivity was a little better.

well back on the forum since a very long time.
The radio quality in such configuration for my side was simply horrible.
But in my config, the microphone is on the G4, not on the external sound plug.
This was what caused my problem.
If no microphone is plugged to the G4 And the onboard sound card has the microphone input switched off, the result is ok.
At least as ok as it was initially.
