worst Route Calculation ever seen
As my bug is encountered as my opinion maybe this section is the right one to post it.
I have experience with Navigation tools since almost 5 years. Medion, TomTom, Navigon, Garmin, iGO. It's the first time with CF that I use Destinator. I must say this is the worst route Calculation I have ever seen. At the moment I run in parallel TomTom Mobile 6, Garmin Nüvi and Destinator from CF. Destinator always choose roads which are either not known by the native people in the area. I don't know if this is a fault by Destinator or a bug in the Integration of CF. As Navigation is a main module for me CF becomes useless. My fault that I already purchased it. Even worst to have maps which are more than 2 1/2 years old. |

It's a cold comfort as I purchased CF/Destinator and not Sygic.
You could not test in advance CF XLE. There is no trial Version except you live in Berlin or New York. Maybe Destinator is not that worst as Sygic routing you from Glasgow to London via Siberia. But from Glasgow to London via Paris doesn't help either. |

I have so far found the routing in Destinator to be fine. It has never gotten lost and always gotten me to my destination.

I've never had a routing problem with Destinator either.
Now Sygic on the other hand... ![]() Hence, I use both. One for routing and the other for POI warnings.

Medion devices use Destinator as engine. I agree that TomTom might have a better engine, but untill now it's not PC compatible.
-I think you need to know the background story to why we are all using destinator. (someone please correct me if I'm wrong!) D3 was the only navigation software available in the beginning and it was not even ligit to use it on a PC due to the size of the screen..... so you had to find a cr*cked dll file in order to eun it. Finally after years of lobbying with them, they finally agreed on selling. Now you can imagine we are more or less bound to stay with them. There's always better and, there's always more expencive.

At least some User are happy with Destinator.
For me it become useless as the calculated routes are worst. Yesterday I had the next strange experience with Destinator. For several days I use now the same route where Destinator told me always to go right on a dedicated cross. Yesterday Destinator told me to go straight forward. ![]() Needless to say that this direction is a forestry road/track. Nothing has changed to the previous days except the date and time. So what to do with such kind of Navigation System? @jmc1414 I use the maps which are provided by Flux Media on my Account page together with the last 2.0 build. Already mentioned in antoher thread the maps are more than 2 1/2 years old. |

I also purchased CF essentially to get a solid in car GPS. While I have no doubt that you will 'get there', the route calculation is consistently awful.
I frequently run it side by side with my TomTom to compare. The destinator route is a joke. As much as I like CF (great UI, great support, cool features), the navigation engine is so bad I cannot give up my tomtom even though that is why I built the CarPC in the firt place. |
