Upgrade event

Ok - you're discounting CF $62.50 if a user bought StreetDeck. So, how much are you offering fairly new customers (5/31/08) towards getting maps that aren't garbage?

we are working to try to resolve your issues posted with navigation edition... if you notice the upgrade event is for Standard Centrafuse only, it has nothing to do with the navigation version...

Streetdeck Upgrade Event
We are pleased to announce our biggest discount event, ever!

If you’ve purchased Streetdeck and have wanted to make the switch to Centrafuse, but just couldn’t justify spending the extra money on another front-end software product, now is your chance to upgrade.

Until Midnight, Sept. 8th, Flux is offering anyone who has purchased Streetdeck a 50% OFF discount on Centrafuse Standard Edition. That’s a savings of $62.50 off the standard retail price of $125.00.

Also, if you would like to purchase one of our Navigation Editions, we will discount any product in our Store the equivalent $62.50.

All you need to do is send us proof of your Streetdeck purchase…it’s that simple. Find out how here: Centrafuse | Streetdeck Upgrade Event

We are very excited to be able to offer you such an excellent deal on a great product. We hope that this rebate allows you to become a Centrafuse user and a valued customer.

Thanks,
The Centrafuse Team

I have the same maps as everyone else does, but Im not expecting a $62.50 refund or free map upgrades.

I also bought a new LCD TV a few months ago, and they already came out with a new model. I don't expect Sony to give me a free upgrade or a refund on that either.

Was you able to test your TV completely before you bought it? Sorry, but I don't live in either New York City or Berlin, therefore I couldn't test the navigation prior to testing.

However, according to your comparing of a TV to Centrafuse: If I had went to a store, bought a TV, brought it home and found out that it couldn't tune into the cable channels in my area, but another TV could, I'd take the TV back, get a full refund and buy the TV that would do it's job correctly.

^ you'd probably have to pay a 15% restocking fee, however.

Not in the UK he wouldn't. We have a "Sale of Goods Act" which says that goods supplied must be fit for purpose.

TV's don't come with an end user license agreement that says it is provided as is.

The EULA is not just a silly screen you have to click "ok" to install. You are actually supposed to read that. If you just click "ok" without reading it, its no ones fault but your own.

I've seen so many people complain about software purchases after ignoring the EULA. If it says "as is" that means if you don't like it, you have no recourse. The provider can choose to refund your money, but they are not required to.

I'm glad that you're perfectly fine with giving away your money for something that doesn't do the job it was intended to do. Myself - nah - sort of a sore subject as you can tell.

I never said I didn't agree that the navigation software is far from perfect. And I understand your frustration that it doesn't do what you want it to do. I just don't see the point in making a big fuss about getting a refund it when it clearly states in the EULA "as is".

I think Flux does a pretty good job responding to the user base regarding features & bugs. Most of the problem with the NAV is on the Destinator side. Flux is one of Destinator's smaller clients. Its probably difficult to get things done because they don't have the same level of influence that the bigger clients might have.

And while you might think Im fine with giving my money away, you accepted the same terms I did.
