^ David (I think) said that owners of CF2.x will have to purchase CF3 for a much cheaper "upgrade fee," rather than paying for CF3 full outright.
Don't think there is a release date in mind, though. Could be next month, could be next year. Although that software looks pretty shaped up.

Well if that is al then CF has come of age imho.
Skin looks great although I'd like the buttons to be configrable to the dash colour....

^ Agreed, especially if less powerful CarPCs wont be able to run CF3.

erm... this looks kinda... bad?
why do you say your cpu won't power it - what? er... ?? theres nothing special there!!
1) its not flashy and does'nt 'look better' than the normal CF2 skin - it looks older.
2) sure it has more 'advanced' clickyness - but do you really think that would work with a big finger touch screen? i don't think so.
i'd say either fake, or a very very beta (or even pre CF1)... as the interface is very... CF1 + as if everyone uses a mouse, not a touchscreen...and it looks old.
just me.. and i've a degree in interface design + multimedia lol

Nobody talk that CPU will be problem... I think there will be problem with graphic card but in pico board is CPU to slow(1GHz), but if will be 1.5GHz will be a lot of better...
CF1&CF2 doesn't have features which you see on movie... So I think this is one skin which will replace Onyx skin in current version and will look OEM in most cars...

- i'll delete and summarise my post as i dont wanna seem like a smart ass -
i'm guessing we're not all long time computer nerds like myself
GPU (graphics processor) does'nt work much here, even on a very basic pc, such as a pico. the CPU is doing the work here. we're talking very very basic stuff.
even then, i'm running a 800mhz EEEPC, and it can handle a decent 3D game such as counterstrike fairly easily. a pico would laugh at this so called CF3. so don't worry guys, until CF introduces 3D you won't have any problems.
and i still don't get what people are freaking out at. theres only some very very very basic animation introduced in this so called CF3 video. your picos will take a dump on it, pardon my french

Im install CF 1.47 on one carpc VIA EK8000 (800Mhz) and only changing main screen take 1-3 seconds so if Im go into next site with buttons it need 1-3 seconds.
More than one year ago Im buy VIA PX10000G (1GHz) and Im using 1.xx CF and board has been slow too(for same operation need 1-2seconds). Current carpc have VIA NX15000G motherboard with 1.5GHz processor and for now work ok with minimal lag. Most lag you can see when you have enabled enhanced graphic and change screen to other. I don't see same efect as on my notebook which have Centrino 1.6GHz processor. On VIA just skip visual effect...
I hope you understand what I would like to tell. I think he can use CF3 on pico but must disable enhanced graphic which take a lot of cpu...

hmm this is strange. i run a ~ 800hmz with advanced graphics, and it takes <1 second to change screens.
from my experience you should not be expecting 3 seconds waits between screens on such an application.
i'm guessing your running a fairly bogged down windows installation. i'm interested it should take this long for you, and i've sent you a PM - hopefully i can help you slicken up your PC. 3 second waits between screens is no good.
note: i have noticed such lag (firefox/IE) on computers where the proper graphics (GPU) drivers were not installed. this is something i'll take up with you in the PM.
