Yes, they did a great job with one thing. No one is disputing that. But your assertion that WE, the PAYING customer have no place to make demands is a bit unrealistic. I don't know how things operate in Australia, but in the world I know, where people have many choices as to what they spend their money on, if a for-profit company wants to keep getting a customer's money, then that company needs to make sure their product is the one the customer is willing to pay for.
If I wanted to develop something, I would. I am a computer science PhD student and I have about 10 years experience developing in professional environments. I assure you I could. But, as a PhD student with a full-time job, I simply do not have the time.
So once again I am going to voice my opinion--drop Destinator. Drop it. It is worthless. The navigation I get on my cell phone is worlds better. Without a first rate NAV system, I will never pay another penny for Centrafuse, and I am sure there are countless others who agree.

May be, that I am one of the few, that are quite happy to the build-in Destinator system. Also I am an "power-user" as my business demands me to have a good navigation system ans I tried several other solutions.
What makes the difference - the good implementation and flexibility with destinator. I can put in thousands of new POIs, new voices can be added easily. I can manage all of my hundreds business-adresses to drive to in a easy and well-sorted way by adding favorite-folders.
I can completely change the way of notifying me about the next turns. No matter if I want to have navigation quiet to listen to my music and only have visual hints, no problem, if I want to have only voice guidance without showing me the navigation screen (e.g. driving in the night) or even have navigation only that moment I need it (not for long steady drive on a single highway, but in destination city) - just a fingertip is enough.
The map looks ugly, thats o.k. because it keeps me looking on the streets instead of looking on the screen. It shows the necessary information, thats what it should do. All other things are only for "show" but not useful on everydays drive on the streets. (In fact most of the time I do not use the map view, but switch to another view)
But, with CF3 there are some crucial points missing:
TMC-Functionality. This should be improved dramatically. First it has to work in CF3 which it is not at the moment.
Second - if I look inside the list (in CF2) it shows me ALL messages in a list. But I cannot go and have a look in the map for an entry showing up. So it works only in one direction.
The sorting in the list should be changed to show the TMC warnings relative to actual position.
Ports - was already mentioned by another user in this thread. Most Bluetooth-Devices use COM-Ports >9 and that is still not working in CF.
Of course also TMC should work with all COM-Ports and a really big improvement worth to this new major release would be to have the port-splitting for GPS/TMC built-in and working...
With this things, I would be completely happy with CF3...
Regards,
Croydon

tmc is fixed in the first update...
as far as the com port > 9 thing, that's a destinator shortcoming, nothing we can do...
also, an fyi, bluetooth serial devices are unreliable, and not supported

Well done Reagen !!!!!
2. I perfectly understand the frustrations that are voiced here in relation to CF working with destinator Nav core and Australian Mapping support in Australia
Personaly i have been able to address this isue by installing destinator 9 into the nav core and then install the latest mapping core
as you can appreciate this is a work around the shortfall on the Australian mapping side of Destinator that i carried out on my own machine.
I believe that CF 3 and all the boys from Fluxmedia have done a fantastic job to support and provide a frontend that is stable and gives the end user the ability to customise to his or her needs a very powerfull infotainment soloution
Now that cf 3 has been opened up even further is a postive step and my congrats go out to the boys for all there hard work on the release
i believe if you take some time with CF and adopt a i will do some work on this and treat it as a project rather than expext the CF/fluxmedia team to give it all done for you on a silver platter will resolve the shortfalls that people are experiencing
the system was never designed to fully provide the end user with every feature that they could imagine and the boys at flux have done a great job to support and accomadate as many features and Apps as possible from everyone
SO -do some research and experimentation and discover the versatility of CF3 yourself
Cheers

Hello, could you please tell me how you integrated Australian maps other than destinator, as it is years out of date as you would possibly know. I am new to Centrafuse and need reliable navigation. Other features dont bother me.
Thanking you in advance.

It is a very simple process to assign a ComPort with number lower than 9 to an BT GPS, provided you have 1 available. Go have a play, you'll see what I mean.
As Scott has mentioned above, CF does not (officially) support BT GPS units, although you might find some will work without to much of a problem - if you can live with the fact that the ComPort doesn't fire up after DTR/Hibernation - you have to restart CF in that case.
So, if you want official support, go grab a USB unit, there's a few discussions of what'll work with CF, without any hassles.
Have a good one.

As Reagan and Mr Bean said, CF doesn't support BT GPS, but BlueSoliel does. I had a BT GPS, and its so simple to reassign a port. Simply go into device manager, then right click over the device you want to change, go to properties, then port settings, and hit advanced button. Then the next screen all the way on the bottom left will allow you to change the com port. I remember that when I tried to use the BT GPS, it conflicted with the phone aspect and they constantly battled. If the GPS worked, then phone didn't, if the phone worked, GPS didn't. To kill the issue, I simply bought the USB cable for the BT GPS, so I could use it as a USB GPS, which fixed alot of headaches. Eventually I went to a 100% USB GPS (BU-353) because the BT GPS was to big and bulky.

I quite agree i have a far better nav system on my Mobile and i can play music and movies on it i can get internet on it and i just get into my Landie and within a few seconds it does all this and works reliably through my Parrot bluetooth kit the only downside is the screen is too small.
Now if i could just get it connected to a bigger screen why bother with CF i might even buy a Iphone if someone made a bigger touchscreen to work in my Landie.
