Some suggestions from Australia

Heya,

I have a couple of issues suggestions I'd like to put forward in a Wall'o'Text format seeing as us Aussies are know for excellent inventions such as the lawmower, electric drill and the boomerang!:

1) Silabs Radio
I'm having an issue when it comes to moving from Radio to Media. There is a hiss in the background and a few pops and crackles here and there when I've been listening to the radio and then move over to listening to MP3's. I know this has been discussed before, however I don't know if it has been addressed

Why post in Suggestions and Requests you ask? Why bother stuffing around with muting the correct channel in the mixer when with one or two lines of code, you can just turn the thing off? With the samples I have seen in the MP3car Hardware development forums (created in vb6 admittedly), there is a small instruction to turn it off when exiting the application. Can this be used in CF as it seems it would solve a lot of the background hissing problems and it would leave the mixer alone.

2) OBD-II
Can we add a voltage readout to this plugin? ELM compatible modules can provide a voltage readout in a simple 'xx.x' format by sending the 'ATRV' command.

As it is the module itself is providing the readout, it is not going to further congest the already busy communications between the OBD-II bus and the reader. Further as as the baud between the module and the pc is usually higher than the baud between the module and car, there will be no problems with insufficient bandwidth to provide a voltage readout every second or so.

This could also be used to set a sofware controlled threshold to shut the system down should the voltage fall below a user definable voltage for a user definable length of time. Perhaps a dialog box could pop-up with a warnign and if the user does not choose to keep the system on, it will shutdown to ensure that it isn't run flat. In understand a lot of the PSU's have this feature, but only one (DSATX) that I know have can be user defined.

3) Dimmer button
Can it be added into the settings somewhere for the user to define the levels to which the dimmer button dims. Wit the AURA skin, the current dim levels are about right, but when using the default skin, the lowers dim level isn't quote dark enough and being able to adjust it (and even automatically changing the levels based on skin settings) would be awesome.

4) Switching Day and Night Skins
I know you used to be able to switch the day and night skins by pressing and holding the Dim button, however this has been replaced with turning the monitor off. As switching between day and night skins is likely to be based on time, perhaps pressing and holding the time in the top right can switch the skins? I know you can set the auto switch times in teh settings, but it is handy for overcast rainy days to be able to switch betwen skins at will.

5) Turning Monitor On (copied from previous pst on MP3car forums )
Is it possible to display a button or image that covers the entire screen once the monitor has been turned off by pressing and holding the dim button for 2 seconds. Currently, when the monitor is off and you touch the screen to turn it back on, you are bound to hit a button. By adding an image or button that is the size of the entire scren, (which you won't be able to see anyway because the monitor is off) it will allow the user to tap the screen to turn it back on without accidentally hitting a button.

I'm expecting at least one of the above features to already exist somewhere, but I couldn't for the life of me find them.

I would love to see the voltage display from OBDII.

I am sure there is a lot more data that can be pulled and maybe a little... faster too.
