RDS / TMC & route calculation

Hi all,

I know TMC will be added soon, but I just have a few questions regarding radio, traffic information and the processing of the traffic information.

what radio is supported by CF that is capable of RDS and TMC ?
At this moment, RDS is allready support (correct ?), but TMC isn't. When I use a radio that has TMC support, and the Destinator does support TMC will that be enough ? Or do I need a special TMC hardware module ?

Agani, I understand there is no TMC support right now, but I want to look with type of hardware I'll need in the future.

by default it will probably work with TMC GPS receivers that Destinator already works with, such as the GNS and a few other models...

I plan to try to also get them to add the ability to pass in custom TMC data, so I could use a supported device like the HQCT...

Support for "ADS Tech" / Silabs / "Brando USB radio" also seems possible but this can only be confirmed after support for TMC is added in the CF radio interface.

Searched the forum, but couldn't find it (bad searching again?). Is HQCT already a solution or will it be shortly?

Kind regards,

Marcel

currently you will need a device like the GNS receiver mentioned in the TMC FAQ...

You can set the COM port and baud rate for TMC, so if you made a virtual COM port and fed the data from somewhere else, the decoder in Destinator might just work, but it's something I have not tested...
