How is the 4.0 4.1 and/or 5.1 output on this card, can you get a simple quadrophonic setup going on? Any other problems?

I actually only had it hooked up for a few days until I built a new mini itx machine. All I remember was that it didnt work with the CF(windows) mixer.
The built in sound on my Via VB7001 motherboard also has its own mixer. The front/rear/sub DOES work with CF's mixer. I just wish the EQ bands in CF were selectable. 80hz is too high to be the lowest adjustable frequency. The Via mixer EQ is like 30/60/120/250/500/1k/2k/4k/8k/16k (each band it roughly doubles as you go up) The CF EQ is 80/140/250/450/810/1k/3k/5k/8k/15k (each band is like 1.75-1.80 times the band before it, very unusual)

Whats the state of the Audigy 2 NX or the SB Surround External 5.1 USB cards?
Do these work in centrafuse? Specifically can you adjust the rear/sub using the centrafuse mixer? |

Dark Fraggel: Are you saying the XMod works perfectly, mixer and everything? Is that a USB card? If so I'll add that to the list.
I'll let someone else deal with PCMCIA cards

I have now a 4-Chanal-Amplifier and must thus directly occupied all 4 channels by the Mainboard and say, it functioned perfectly. Fader and balance, everything top!

Hi all,
I have been using the Creative Xmod and Yes it works great!! Mixer and line in and everything, one thing thou you must remember, turn off the power saving on that USB port otherwise you can hear funny noices when you turn on your car. The Creative Audigy 2 NX (PCMCIA) card (using now) is even better, you dont need USB cabeling, a bit better sound quality and more then 2 chanels. One thing to remember here too, dont install all the software included Just the driver and use windows own mixer then it works fine. I havent tried 5.1 sound yet so i dont know how it will be handled in CF. So in other words i can reccomend both cards! CF1.47 on a windows XP Home, Dell Lattitude "modified" |
