Has anybody got the HQCT-eA working with CF?

As the title of the thread suggests...anybody?

If you do I would be very interested to hear how you got it working and what you think the level of built in support offered by CF is like.

Cheers Glitch

Glitch,

I have an HQCT-ea which I bought after I paid for CF Nav (V2) on the basis that the HQCT-ea was compatible (as per CF's site) with CF V2. It appears now that it isn't or at least only just but even so, I have failed to get reliable functionality out of it. So I am a bit PO'ed, frankly. If it were not for this issue I would have the carputer/HQCT-ea installed by now.

I don't want to ditch CF as it appears to be a good front end and has the NAv, Phone and plugin features that I need for my EV project - then there's the money! But I need a work-around for the HQCT-ea untill the CF crew achieve a reasonable and reliable plugin.

I have dallied with CPCTuner and have had it working fine - but then something went adrift and I have not been able to get it working again. The main issue is that I get a 'Range Check Error' when I try to use FM - it occured to me this morning that it migh be that when I changed the tuning range in CF to Extended as the instructions stated, this is what has confused CPCTuner (I gather the settings are shared) - the range error relating to the CPCTuner program trying to tune outside of permitted range?? - I'm doing a re-install at the moment and will see if it makes any difference to leave the tuning range as default. But that shouldn't make any difference to whether or not CF works with the HQCT-ea. It's either compatible or it aint.

So in short the answer to your question is NO! And support from CF less than brilliant - on this issue, anyway.

Regards, MW.
