How to import favorite Points of Interst (POI) into Centrafuse.
Official FAQ located here
Open Centrafuse and go to Navigation then to Navigation Favorites. From within the Navigation Favorites, create a new Folder with the “+” sign, enter this folder, then click the “+” sign again. One of the options listed here is ‘IMPORT’. This allows you to browse to a .CSV file located on your computer. A .CSV file will need to be created using one of the programs and formats listed below. The list below includes the only currently supported formats. Note that any .CSV file will load, so if you already have some POI data, you can adjust your .CSV to one of the following formats. The specific map for the area you are importing POIs for should already be loaded. You can then select to Show your favorite on the map and an icon will show up for all the favorites listed in the favorite’s folder. You can also go to “C:\Program Files\Flux Media\Centraufuse\UserData\Favorites” folder. From here you can change the icon for you favorite folder by modifying the name of your favorite folder .BMP File. For example if you have a folder called PERSONAL for favorites, change the PERSONAL.BMP file and it will show up with that icon on the map when selected in Navigation to show. You can also have it give you an alert as you approach this favorite. You can do this by placing, for the same example above, a file called PERSONAL.WAV in the “C:\Program Files\Flux Media\Centrafuse\Voice\All” folder.
NOTE: If a field has quotes around it, then that means it’s string data within the .CSV file. The longitude and latitude should be numbers only. There are unused fields in these formats, but the .CSV file has to be in one of the formats above to work with the Favorites import utility.

Jan - at what distance from the POI will it provide an alert ?
I know I've been on about this before at David an he says this is the way to do it but I want a proper speed cam system eg - Freedrive 1. That allows import of a CSV file ( as above ) but is able to split down the 'types' of cameras available in to the internal data base. From this data you get an approaching warning ( eg a beeb beeb based on distance ) down to a verbal warning of the camera type and speed and also a visual indcation with the further display of the direction that cam is facing. Further more having spoken to CDR about this the warning its self is tied in to the actual road through D3 rather than a proxcimity to increase acuracy when driving on nearby roads..... The POI warner plugin does some of this but again I beleive like this function its based on proxcimity ? Terran |

Create a new favourite for each camera type and import as normal. Rename the bmp files supplied to match the name of the favourite and your away. |

Import POI file
Jan,
I had a POI file this weekend with 9,000 POI's for geocaching. When I tried to import it into CF it was extremely slow, after 30 minutes it only had about 35% imported. Is there a way, or a place, I can put the file straight into CF without having to do an import? Or is the file just so large it takes a while? Thanks, rhinocat

long, very long, terribly long, ages.
Yes this is definitively true. I currently do not use the import and do my files directly using POIEdit. It takes exactly 1,5 seconds to build all my .DAT files (>15000 locations). As a comparison, CF for some files took more than 1 hour and for some of them I simply did not go to the end....
