Yes, that's the way it is. It's not just Centrafuse/Destinator either.

XP still had a number of bugs when they came out with Vista.

Contrary to popular belief, we don't get the maps for free from Destinator.

You are kidding me, right?
Sure, XP had a number of bugs, but you get the service packs for free. I don't expect to get a new version of Centrafuse or even a whole new version of destinator for free, but i expect that i get a working navigation system - because that is what i paid for!
So there is no way that i could get a better working navigation than the one that leaded me to nowhere two times in 6 months and that cost me a lot of trouble and gas money without paying?
If so, i will downgrade and get my navigation software elsewhere. Because no one can guarantee me that the new update won't leed me to nowhere again.

To be honest, I doubt you'll get that guarantee with any navigation software.

The issue that you mentioned in your other thread is directly related to the mapping software, not to Centrafuse.

While I understand that this can be confusing because the developers have done such an amazing job in patching Destinator into Centrafuse and have done so seemingly seamlessly, we have absolutely no control over the data that is contained within the maps.

This is also why the mapping companies come out with new maps. Their information can become outdated and they must update it accordingly. The same happens with printed maps as well.

I agree..... I consider iGuidance a very reliable GPS and that has led me to places i didnt want to go either (twice also). I have never liked Destinator so my route was using IGuidance plu-in and working from that. Even though Destinator is on the CF RC editions, I still use iGuidance, infact the first thing i did when i installed RC 1 through 4 is remove the Destinator icon and put iG there. Remember cities are constantly changing, and so are ZIP codes and streets, and unless they update the maps (Destinator or iG, not CF), you will run into issues. These were the issues for my problems.

I know what you mean. But i bought the whole product from you, not from the creators of destinator. And i know that no one can guarantee me a 100% working software, i don't expect that. But i'm _not_ willing to let such big problems occur for a navigation software i payed 130 €
So i should write a email to the programmers of destinator?
And why don't you mention that on your website? I always saw centrafuse as a whole with navigation included, never heard another thing until i had the problems and looked in the forum.

The ZIP codes won't change that much here in germany Actually i never saw a zip code changing here...
And i know what you guys mean with "own risk" etc. I don't expect a miracle, just a standard navigation system that works. The town i tried to find is in that exact place since long before the usa was foundet and the last zip code change in germany was after the wall broke...

Destinator is not perfect. Get over it. Most if not all navigation software contains mistakes somewhere.

I can't believe the expectations people have.

eh i gave up on destinator to try and get me to places fast.. i just use the map and my own common sense... it's with any GPS, the program is not smarter then you, as long as you use common sense.

anyways, at least the new Maps look a lot better to use and work with...

hey Jan do you think you guys could have a 30 day trial of the destinator software before someone upgrades? or something like that. because if i see as many problems as i have had with destinator in this version i dont want to waste my money. so i have more options with navigation. i have to agree.. D6 dose suck.

sorry if it dosnt make much sense... kinda tired.

The problem will lie in the fact that once you have full maps for the demo version you have full maps that can be used on any version and therefore they become free maps and Destinator makes no money from the maps. Which is where they make their money as they have to buy the maps from Navteq or whoever in the first place. Flux media just onsells the Destinator engine embedded into Centrafuse that runs the Destinator maps and Destinator themselves are the ones making the rules, as far as navigation goes anyway.
