2.0 Purchase Concerns and Trial Extensions
I have had a number of emails come over the support system asking for extension codes. When I ask why the user is wanting an extension code, I'm finding that the number one reason is that they want to wait for 2.0 and be sure that they get the most out of their purchase.
For some reason, there is the thought that if they purchase right now, they will not be eligible for all of the 2.0 updates. While this has been outlined a number of times, I realize that it's not obvious.
It turns out that a number of users are not certain about how the purchase will be handled or how the upgrades will be handled.
As a customer, if you purchase Centrafuse right now you will not be any different in our eyes. You are a customer and as such you will receive the upmost in support.
I will remind you though that the current stable release I 1.2, which is what you are technically paying for at this time. As such, any bugs that are currently in 2.0 are to be expected until it is considered a stable release.
The next pay for version will be 3.0. All updates until that point will be free, no matter if you originally purchase 1.2 or waited until 2.0 goes Gold. 3.0 is over a year away though, so you don’t have anything to worry about.
ANYONE who has purchased 1.2 is eligible for the free upgrade to 2.0 and all of the 2.0 releases.
Regarding maps: Map upgrades are not free. We do not get them for free, therefore, we cannot give them out for free. However, we don't plan to make any money off of them. Our cost on the maps will be your cost on the maps. The goal is to have the map updates available at the same time as the 2.0 release (which is slated to be the end of June/beginning of July) or shortly there after.
We are willing to consider those who purchased within a certain time frame of the 2.0 release for complementary map upgrades. We do not have that time frame lined out yet as we are focusing on getting 2.0 out there first.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Jan - if it help you my main concern is that the pricing will change for the UK / EU ( which David has confirmed ) plus the maps will also be updated so I would have to pay once now and pay for an upgrade again....
Having spoken to David he thought for me the best course of action was to hold fire. In the mean time I'm preping two skins using VD2 thanks to Zorro ( PS every one - well worth a try once you get past the silly questions I kept asking its fantastic and only limited by CF its self.... )
I hope that helps.

So does this mean that we WILL need to pay for the upgrade to v3 in a year or so?

Correct, once the maps are updated, if you are already a customer and want the new maps, then you would have to pay for new maps. This is really no different than it would be for any mapping program, in this instance though, it just happens to be included in another program.

Yes. This is absolutely no different than what you would run into with any other software on the market....Windows, et. al.

CF 2.0 is not available for purchase. If you purchase CF at this time, you will be paying for 1.2.

Thanks for the clarification.
My main concern is the Australian maps. If I purchase now, will I get the same maps now as I would if I purchased CF2 when it comes out? I heard CF2 will have updated aussie maps. Thanks.

Yeah mate Im holding out on purchasing until the new Australian maps are released to Flux.
I know the new maps have been released as i have seen them on a mates standalone Nav unit, but for whatever reason Destinator havnt past them onto Flux.
So until they do, i wont be purchasing CF just yet unless Flux can gurantee a free map upgrade for this special circumstance.

I'm sorry, but we don't offer up coupon codes in that manner.
