I have a different problem...

everything was working ok and recently I installed "racechrono". Didn't do anything around BT but since then the BT won't start automatically and even when I click on it and click on the "start bluetooth" it says "can't start bluetooth, no hardware found"

weird thing is that it was working perfectly and then suddenly stopped....an not right away, for a few days it was enough to just restart the carpc, sometimes restart it 2-3 times...and now I can't get it to work at all...

try re-install of bluesoleil...
did you happen to install and vcom ports or anything lately around when it stopped working? installing vcomm drivers usually messes up an existing BS install...

that's the thing...I didn't do anything with the drivers!!

it's driving me crazy, I barely managed to make it work a few months ago and now all over again

tell me, are there similar problems when the gps module is a usb one?

aaaahhhhh....
yes, get rid of the bt gps, nothing but issues you will have... not sure if that's the exact problem in this case, but you will never get it to work at a satisfactory rate, we had to remove support for ALL bluetooth serial devices because they are just plain and simple too problematic...

@ Nine: As Scott said, we did a helluva lot of testing on my Holux 1000-M BT GPS, and, although we could get it to connect some of the time, it did so at around a 40% ratio -the rest we had to "cheat" inside CF settings to get it to connect ofter S3/Hibernate, whichh is not ideal.

My Nokia E51 connects all the time, no issues at all. I recently got my hands on a very nice Sparkfun Venus GPS, running at up to 10Hz updates, and 115k BAUD, beautiful - connect that to either this model USB->Serial Breakout board, the same model I have, which has the required 3.3V regulator for the GPS, or a similar, although slightly smaller, and thus more expensive one, and grab a small Lithium (similar to motherboard CMOS) battery, and, you're set.

Very fast TTFF, and, with the backup battery, you will not have to worry about long delays to first fix- mine gets a fix within 2-3 seconds after resume from S3/Hibernate, and CF 3.0 always makes the connection now.

Wonderful, both phone and GPS working after resume.

Tie that in with the little Zotac 9300 WiFi mini-itx board, with E7500 cpu I'm using, and lighspeed Intel X25-M G2 SSD, and you have a very fast, stable and reliable carputer. Jeesh, with S# or hibernate, it's within the CF shell and operable within 10-12 seconds after power on - 23 seconds from dead-cold start - must be happy.

Mmmm...sorry...got carried away.....

hehehe thanks for the story

what's frustrating is that everything worked just fine....gps within centrafuse for igo, destinator, garmin, racechrono, cardinale, all at the same time....and now I can't geti it to work at all

I ordered this GPS module: DealExtreme: $38.56 G.Mouse Mini USB SiRF Star-III 20-Channel GPS Receiver for PC and Laptops

so I will see if that will solve my centrafuse drama
