Troubleshooting Tips for GPS

Official FAQ

Here are some trouble shooting steps to try if you can't get your GPS receiver to work or are having some issues with GPS.

  • Set the BAUD rate to 9600. Some devices show that they need to be at 4800 and will work in other programs at 4800, but they will only work in Centrafuse at 9600. If you're already using 9600, then try 4800 baud.
  • Check to see if you are using a very high COM port, something like COM 22. If so, adjust the driver to COM 1-9. Sometimes this will make a difference with Destinator.
  • Make sure you are using NMEA mode. Most of the time, even if you have a SiRF receiver, it should still be set to NMEA in the settings.
