It's weird because before I did a "fresh install" a couple weeks ago, it would hibernate within seconds. Bootup extremely quickly.
Yeeah the drive is found in BIOS, and yes. It's weird as well because when I first installed Windows I had to get the drive to boot, and it did fine, this time, no go. I couldn't figure it out... but it drove me nuts

I'm measuring from where the CPU fan starts to music playing where it left off in Centrafuse.

i have the intel dg45fc mobo running a gig of memory.
i've run both a celeron and a core 2 duo processor.
my boot and resume times are insanely SLOW!
I'm talking like close to a minute. I've spent some time goung through and disabling services and stuff in the bios...but this board isn't designed to be fast for boot up or hibernate. it's designed as a media center mobo.
planning on trying a few other things, like a new mobo next...lol

Hehehe, I see that I'm not alone with the slow boot times with the Intel board. If you want 15+ seconds from hibernation, get the Jetway board I mentioned. I wonder what the boot times are for the Jetway 2.0GHz board. Some of these manufacturers would make lots of money if they made a fast booting board. I would be happy with 7-10 seconds coming out of hibernation

not THE intel mobo...I'm running a different intel mobo than you are....
DG45FC....core 2 duo, not the atom board.
For me, the hibernation and boot times aren't the deciding factor for a mobo, the sound is....
The fact that the other intel board doesn't have an optic prevents me from ever considering it.

Interesting?
Hmmm that's interesting....
I see all you guys seem to be using mini-atx boards in your cars.
I had a Epia M600 to start with but I was running road runner then and i found it a little on the slow side (talking of which it's up for sale with a M1 Psu). So I have switched to a Shuttle Motherboard with a pentium 4 3ghz processor. This is a lot faster, i'll time my boot time tomorrow and let you know, after i have stripped a little windows and bios
If anyone can give any extra tips on what else to strip out, that would be great!
Paul

I am more concerned about boot types and a fairly fast system. The Jetway board provides both. I'm not concerned about the onboard sound since I used an external USB sound card.

If I have time today, I'll get in my bios and start disabling some stuff and see how much time I can actually cut from my boot time.
I was very happy with a 16 second boottime, but cutting down even more would be even better.
