Here are the dimensions of the case.

Width: 107mm (ID), 113mm (OD)
Height 14mm (ID), 20mm (OD)
Depth: 125mm (ID), 128mm (OD)

There are a number of sites online that sell plastic enclosure cases. Here are a few it could easily be slipped into;

Does this also cancel echo from the sound that is coming from your rear? Or only the speakers that are connected to the card.

Looking forward to your reply

I will be testing it this weekend, they are forecasting rain. I will report back my real world findings then.

I decided to install it tonight. And I couldn't be happier to report it's a complete success . There is absolutely no echo, no matter how loud you put your speaker inside the vehicle.

I haven't tried it at highway speeds yet. But on local streets I do not hear any road noise either.

One thing I did notice is that this card does amplify the incoming audio, 1 db or so. My crappy onboard sound card gives a pulsing hum, which is easily noticed when plugging into this card. But by turning down the gain on my amp a few degree's the noise is gone. (noise present when amp gain is up and plugged directly into the sound card, so not related to the device)

I will get a good usb sound card eventually..

Now if I we can only get our bluetooth serial #'s so I can actually begin using it.

First off great work,

Second, would it be possible to get some specs / pics of how your powering the card from your computer itself? I've got a few ideas in mind to do it power wanted to compare notes.

Thanks!

No problem. I took some final pics tonight, but I am heading to bed. I will upload them tomorrow. And list details of the build.

How about the sound delay?

I get a major delay (like 2-3 seconds) from the time I speak into the mic, until it gets to the other caller. But what is weird is its only one way, when they talk to me the delay is only a fraction of a second.

So I am wondering if you are getting this?

Its really difficult to get pictures which clearing show you how the unit is being powered.

From the attached picture you can see the unit is placed under the basslink. The green and yellow wires you see coming from the power plug into the split loom come from the 5v rail of a molux cable from within the case (red and black). This is what I use to supply 5 volts to the unit. It goes into the split loom because it also powers a USB hub hidden in my center console.

Let me know if you need anything else.

It may also be worth mentioning that I was able to use my existing mic (a cheap mic that came with one of my computers). It's much more discrete then the iball mic.

I do have some delay. Maybe 1-2 seconds. But this is not something I notice when in a call.

It is well documented to happen with bluetooth headsets as well. So I do not believe its specific to centrafuse's implementation.

It all depends on your phone and the bluetooth device you are using, some are better some are worse.

I have an HTC Touch with a Dlink DBT-120 bluetooth adaptor. I may try one of my Belkin F8013 adaptors to see if it has any effect.

I will most likely pick one up when we finally get our bluetooth keys. Apparently CF already has them, so not sure what the big hold up is.

Hell, I spent like 100 on a bluetooth headset back in the day when they first came out, to have it built into my car, and working well, totally worth it.

Good work Salmizar,

I have put an order in for the card now based on your results, I live in Australia so will be a while before i receive it.

Im glad you had great success with this, finally a solution thats not too expensive. So it does pay to be a pioneer sometimes. Good work mate.

Just a quick one, can you provide the dimensions for the holes you drilled. Ie hole size, distance apart, and distance from the inside edges.

Thanks again

Cheers

James
