Updated from 1.47 to 2.0 RC6, GPS not working.. infill
Hi there all you guys..
I had the 1.47 installed for quite a while on my infill G4 and was fairly happy about it.. but wanted to upgrade and installed first the rc1 update and that fu..ed up everything for me. gps not working nor did the infill controls among other things.
then i recently installed the rc6 and my gps is not working now either.
i performed a fresh install.. the gps is a bluetooth Holux M1200.
on 1.47 it worked just fine on baud 4800 and NMEA protocol. (it is really a sirf III chipset, strange.. but NMEA protocol was the only thing working)
tryed sirf and nmea, 4800/9600/38400 baud and the device is discovered and connected to com 16 with a registered bluesoeil. i do not have any other bluetooth apps running. what could this be? need help badly!
also my rear speakers and sub is not working.. VERY annoying.. i am using a usb 5.1 soundcard from terratec.
edit: and the radio is not working.. what could this be? is there any settings that is wrong?

nothing should have changed with your rear/sub output, do you mean control of the inputs? If so go to Mixer/Levels, then click Levels again to pull up more options for input control of sound devices on your system...
the GPS receiver should still work if it worked in 1.47, sometimes lower COM ports, COM1-9 work better in Navigation... What has changed, were you using a different Bluetooth stack before?
the radio should work, go to Settings, enter advanced settings, select Radio, choose Infill as the device, and line-in as the playback AND recording device and hit save...

how did you upgrade? can i assume that you followed the instructions in the release notes? You installed RC1? Where did you get that from? Did you removbe 1.47 before installing a 2.0 RC? Can I assume you installed RC4 before you upgraded to RC6-6.1? That was in the release notes as a requirement, just asking 'cause you didn't mention it...

Hey guys!
Same problem. I also have an Infill G4. I uninstalled RC3 (as recommended) and made a fresh instill of RC4 and upgrades to RC6. And like you mentioned, I now have problems with my navigation. The radio solution was easily fixed by choosing 'Infill'. Any ideas on fixing the navigation?
CHeers,
Haran

hello again.. i have been away for a long time here.. but i still have the problem. now i`ve installed the centrafuse final 2.0 version, performed a fresh install and followed all the instructions. but still got the same problem. how can i change to a lower port number? all are taken up to com 15. the bluesoeil connects the gps just fine and it seems to be alright with the stack.
but in 1.47 when it worked fine, i used another bluetooth stack.
this is a really urgent matter. have a long way to travel tomorrow.
any help appriciated.

have you tried xPort? if not give it a try, you can search on the forums for download and setup information...

Hi David, thank you for a quick reply!
i`ve managed to change the port to com 5 and that was it. now it is connected. happy day!
but it is extremely slow, probably 5-10 secs/50-100 yards after my real location. tryed to set higher baud rate from the normal 4800 all the way to 38400, as reccomended from the manufacter of the gps. but no difference.
got any tips here? quite troublesome when you`re in a town and miss turns because of this.. it is set on nmea, sirf dont work at all.

the map update speed should be good in 2.0, it is in the file in the sub folder "UserData\GPSTMC.ini"
MapDelay should be at 50, for 50ms
There is a program called SirfDEMO that you use to could download, it will allow you to enable SiRF mode on your receiver and set the baud rate all the way up to 57600, this might also help... I don't have the download, but you should be able to find it...
