I'm having this issue as well, but I've discovered the RoadRunner resumes correctly. I really want to make Centrafuse my primary front-end, but until this issue is fixed, it will remain my secondary.

same issues after a complete new windows install (SP2 without updates)
I'm tired now to try if downgrading CF to RC4 or so would fix that and instead just life with it, as I am touching the screen anyway everytime the PC comes ab (cause of my habbit in pressing PAUSE before turn of car )

I think RR works diffrent, I am not sure if it uses .NET like CF does. I have had a bad weekend and a cr@ppy beginning of the week, so I havent been able to play with the PC at all.... All i know is that my PC never did this before. So its either a device I added, a driver, Windows, and possibly CF.

Well me, I am not willing to settle for that. i spent way to much money, time, and even blood on building the biggest and baddest uber system. This is my first time ever having this issue, and it is also the only PC i have it on.
Scott can you provide us with some type of program to test this issue. The WMP example you gave didnt work since WMP tells you it cant resume from hibernation in the first place.

I posted about this over on the mp3car forums with not much of a response so I thought I was pretty much on my own. Then I decided to take a look over here and it seems that there are quite a few people with this problem.
This issue is frustrating me no end. I've built two other CF carputers previously and neither had this issue but my current one on a mac mini had decided not to play the game.
Although it appears to be a windows bug it sure is frustrating that other programs can resume from hibernation fine. I tried a small mp3 player called Billy and it started playing music upon resume no probs. What makes it worse is that I can actually embed Billy into CF, have them both start playing music, then hibernate, and when it resumes Billy starts playing fine while still embedded in CF but CF itself is still frozen.
One thing I have noticed is that it is only an issue for music and not movies. When video is playing CF resumes fine. I was thinking maybe it would be possible for the development team to write a patch for us guys having this issue. The fix would be to just have CF open up a small movie behind the scenes and have it playing non-stop and repeating with no video or audio output anywhere. Maybe then it Windows will throw the event needed by CF just like it does when a movie is playing on the main screen.
What do you think? Would it possibly work?

I could imagine, that this is rather a .NET issue than a WIndows or CF issue, as Windows usually resumes correctly, as well as non-.NET apps.
So I could imagine of a small service written in c or c++ that "wakes" CF up could be a solution... -Any C/C++ developers out her, who could test that?

I hope so too.... I wiped out my PC and currently have windows 2002 installed.... havent had a chance to install a service pack. I think this is also a driver issue. I am going to install service pack 3, but when it comes to .NET, 2.0 is the highest I will go. I noticed that when I went to .NET 3.5 I had the resume issue. I also think its a driver from one of the many devices, so I am going to install 1 then test with CF, the another, then test with CF, basically until I cant come out of resume correctly.
