CF Phone Auto Audio Transfer setting

I'm confused about this setting. The CF manual seems to indicate that if someone wants to use handsfree through CF and their PC/Car Speakers and Microphone that this setting should be "ON".

However, it seems that most everyone in the forum is saying this setting should be set to "OFF"

I wasn't getting any sound through my speakers when I tested it with the setting "ON". Which seems the opposite of what the setting says.

However, I was picking up my voice through the PC's microphone (at least I think it was unless my phone was picking it up as well from my pocket). Plus there was very minimal delay - which was encouraging.

But when I changed the Auto Audio Transfer setting in CF to "OFF", I started getting sound through my PC's speakers and still the PC microphone. However, now there was about a 2-3 second delay in my voice to the other end of the call and the volume level on the PC speakers was virtually not audible - although it was there this time.

So do you all think this is a sound card setting issue maybe? Everything else seems to work OK from what I can tell.

Is the volume level being so low (CF volume is MAX) caused by a sound card setting or something? The Music Sound Device is set to the only sound card I have on the system.

Thanks for the help and sorry if this exact question is addressed somewhere. I did search quite a few times and reviewed sound output/volume posts and never found one quite like mine.

Just noticed the "IN-CALL WAV VOLUME" setting on Page 2 of Phone settings. This setting is not documented in the manual?

Does this setting indicate the volume control through the PC speakers based on it's value?

If so, what sort of value is it expecting? I've tried 10 and 100 and neither seems to do anything.

100 seems to be the highest setting and I did notice some difference this time when I retested it. It is still not nearly as audible as the music that is muted before the call is connected though.

Scott,

This is encourgaing news for people that have the delay, but I am also wondering about the setting for ATT. I am confused about this also, and you didn't explain that to mightymavkev. Can you explain this a little further?

Not documented because it was added after the manual was written, we're always adding new things over here...

The wav volume in phone settings is one you can use where cf will set the wav volume to that value during a phone call. Yes, the audio output is light from the stack, so, this setting was added to give the system volume a "boost" during a call. Of course, if you keep your wav volume up high to begin with, it won't make much of a difference... 0 being lowest value (no volume), 100 being highest (wav volume all the way up).
