I altered the hibernation/boot screens in Win7 so you basically never know its Windows unless you close Centrafuse.
How did you stripped Win7? Do you any software to help you do that?

And how did you change those screens?

Thanks.

Already posted this in another thread, but don't use Tiny7 if you plan on using the voice features in CF. They removed the voice/speech rcognition wizard so you won't be able to access it. I'm throwing a full version of Win7 on tonight.

Please Please Please Please post how you get on im thinking of going the win 7 route but if you read my posts you'll know i'm not mouse trained and are you still sticking with CF3 because i did try CF3 but could not get on with the missing volume buttons and the lack of day screen.

I've been using Tiny7 since last tuesday (took me one day to realize that the XP driver for the D495GCLF2 didn't support multi-monitor and the win7 one did)and aside from the no voice wizard, it's been great. Cold boot is a little longer than XP (maybe 3-4 seconds), hibernation is around the same between the 2.

As for the interface, I'm using my skin (not released yet) so I have the volume buttons and the high contrast day skin already. I would be working on the skin today but I forgot the power cord for the macbook pro at home and used the battery up already installing a full version of Win7 this morning (VMware Fusion SUCKS the battery dry in about half the time i would normally have available). With luck my skin should be out in a week or two.

I spent days stripping down an XP image and then another couple days optimizing to have XP load and come out of hibernation as fast as possible. Ide cold boot into XP in about 35-40 seconds and come out of hibernation in about 15-20.

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on Monday with nothing but junk removed (almost all normal services running) and have done no optimizations. It cold boots in about 30-35 seconds and comes out of hibernation in about 15-20 seconds. I have a Dualcore Atom 330 board with 2g of ram and a 5400rpm 500gb Seagate hdd.

So far my experience with Windows7 is better in every way in a carputer environment EXCEPT for the strange 5.1 audio issue with a built in Realtek sound card. Hibernation works better (havent had any issues yet) and Centrafuse running as the shell works better (never have flashes of the start menu at the bottom when switching between screens sometimes and when hibernating).

When hibernating in Windows 7 the screen fades to black, shuts off my monitor, and then proceeds to go through the hibernation process while Im walking away from the car. It gives it much more of an OEM feel. I altered the hibernation/boot screens in Win7 so you basically never know its Windows unless you close Centrafuse.
Hi,

how did you manage to change the win7 boot and hibernation screens.

Cheers
