Who has a "complete" setup that they are satisfied with?
Hey CF users,
I'm trying to get a handle on how satisfied people are with CF and all the possibilities a carputer offers. I currently have a working setup, but not flawless and not with all the features I would like.
For example, my BT phone support is sloppy (esp w/o noise cancellation) so I dont bother using it. Nav is a bit clumsy with destinator but it works. Voice control is pretty poor in my opinion (when it works).
I'd just like to know if any of you guys have working setups which all your peripherals work really well and not just "some of the time"! Let me hear some feedback!

I'm at a similar level of satisfaction. I have a working setup but have a few more things that I'm working on. The things I'm working on: BT phone, reverse cam, and maybe eventually I'll work on my hibernation problems.
But overall, my carPC is functional for daily use and I'm happy with it. Half the fun is getting things to work.

Well im generally happy with CF as a product like previous users i gave up on phone integration im using a parrot to interupt the car pc feed and Nav is outdated and not full enough.
Im also struggling with duel screen ive extended windows and Cf reconises screen but nothing displays on screen 2 apart from the wall paper but im sure most of the downfalls are due to poor hardware choise and my poor pc building skills and nothing to do with Cf
Ps im still using Cf2

I too am generally happy with centrafuse...otherwise I would not have upgraded to 3.0
On the other hand, I have alot of issues which really prevent my setup from competing with some factory OEM systems. I've seen flawless bluetooth phone integration; ive seen Microsoft Sync in Fords for voice control; i see better nav from silly little "handheld" gps systems which announce the street to turn on and all sorts of little bells and whistles that destinator doesnt have (I know the CF guys are trying to work on that).
Anyways, just trying to get a feel of how many people out there feel the same way or have found ways around the issues I have

there are garmin and iguidance plugins that some users swear by to integrate into CF, and the SOHO card completely takes care of ECNR for the phone... Voice control has been improved 5X in CF3, with dynamic command generation of contact names for phone calls, and music titles for loading music...

I read about the better voice control, but unfortunately I am having issues with my mic (which I did open a thread about but havent gotten any help).
I can't use the SOHO card because I only have 1 PCI slot on my mobo which is being taken up by my XONAR D2 sound card (which I love)... thanks for the suggestions though

You dont need a free PCI slot! This PCI Connection is only for voltage, they can also connect different.

you do not need a pci slot for the soho. 2 wires ran to it for power, that is it, see the phoenix soho thread...
