Centrafuse 3.x music import problem / limitation?
I have a rather large music database, right now about 38,000 lossless WMA files. Starting with Centrafuse 3.0 and now with 3.1, when I import music from a USB external drive, Centrafuse copies the files over to the hard drive correctly, but fails to correctly register the files in the media database. If I go to the recordings I imported, most of them only show 1-3 songs and occasionally an imported recording shows all the songs.
Has anyone else seen this issue or know what the work around is? I had absolutely no problems with Centrafuse 2.x, so something with Centrafuse 3 broke the import functionality when it comes to updating the music database. I was a software quality analyst for 10 years, so I know how to test software and this one has me stumped.
This is a really annoying problem because rebuilding the database does fix the issue of the missing tracks, but it takes 1.5hrs to complete on a music collection that large.
My system:
ZOTAC IONITX-A-U motherboard
Intel Atom N330 1.6GHz Dual-Core
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
4gb Ram
SAMSUNG EcoGreen F2 HD154UI 1.5TB hard drive
Lilliput EBY701-NP/C/T Touch Screen Monitor
USB ELM327 OBD II Interface
USB SiRF III GPS Receiver
Windows 7 Ultimate

Well, I ended up posting a defect for the import issue. I hope they can fix this as it makes Centrafuse 3.x essentially unusable.
Does anyone know if there is any difference in the GPS maps for C2.x and C3.x?
Really, better maps would be the only reason for me running C3.x. So if the maps aren't any more current in C3.x, I can just revert back to C2.x. It's a shame that such a core function of Centrafuse got broken with the release of C3.x....

I'm not sure how you were "importing" these files, but if you simply copy these files into your folder that CF is currently using for media. Just look under Settings (advanced) - Audio/Video and look at Music Paths.
If you actually copy these files into the music folder, while CF is running, it will auto-add these track to the library for you. You won't have to rebuild the library or do an import. You can simply minimize CF and as long as it's running, it will add these new files to the library. It won't exactly happen in realtime, meaning you may not see them as they are added, but you will start to see them after a couple of minutes show up in the library.
Hope this helps.

I am importing the music files with the Import function in Centrafuse 3.x just as I did with Centrafuse 2.x. As stated before, I went back to the hard drive to verify that Centrafuse had actually "physically" copied the files from my USB drive to the hard drive (which it did). However, the Import function in Centrafuse 3.x fails to register the songs in the media library correctly. This was never an issue in 2.x and isn't today as I am back to running 2.x due to this issue.
If it helps, I've been a Quality Assurance Coordinator and a Business Systems Analyst for 15 years, so I am quite familiar with defect management procedures.

I don't think it's the import. They just choke on moderately sized libraries.

Yeah you shouldn't use the Import function of CF - it's really for small USB thumb drives. I always turn Auto-Import and Auto-Play off, because I find these settings annoying.
Anyways, you just need to add the proper path e.g - F:\myMusik\ to the Audio/Video section under Advanced Settings. Add that new drive as a Music path, and when you're done and save, it wiill prompt you rebuild (might say "import") your new music. You can answer yes, or go back to System\Library\Rebuild.
When it's rebuilt you should be able to see all your music.
