Cool

Those are cool. Thanks, i noticed that they are both IDE / ATAPI interfaces, do you guys know of any adpaters to make them USB?. Or better yet are there any slim dvd drives that are USB.

p.s. if the drive is IDE / ATAPI, any IDE cable can connect to it straight to the mobo????

Thanks guys!

You can buy a 5 1/4" USB enclosure for it, which comes with the IDE-USB conversion built in, not sure it will help you though seeing that you want to install it in a small space?. I got mine from Compusa website, here is the product link:

make sure that if you get an external case that it's bus powered, or you will need to find a way to get the home power plug converted, if you use a transformer ok, but if you have everything straight hooked up with an automotive DC/DC PSU then you won't have the stuff you need, and also if you get a USB optical taht's bus powered, you cannot connect it to a USB HUB, you can connect the USB Data but not the USB Power plug into the HUB cuz a HUB can't give enough power, you will need a direct USB port from the PC or one thats extended with a powered USB cable.

oh yeah, here are some good sites.

www.mini-itx.de just click on the store.

http://www.cartft.com/ a great store has everything u need, and fast shipping.
