I've just unplugged gray one (so the signal is not going to CAN-BUS) and connected JoyCon there.

What I've recently found is that I do not have a horn now as the horn signal is like a 7th button on the steering wheel.
Thanks for the reply. I will have a look at the connectors on my steering wheel.
I was hoping that when I take the head unit out, I could connect the Joycon to the steering wheel connector that plugged into the back of the head unit.

I wonder if I could make this to work, since I'm still using my steering wheel buttons, and I can't tap on them (without cutting the wires). It's an old (90's) Sony wired remote.

I suppose I going to find three wires in this thing, ground and two more (it's a stereo P1 terminal). Which ones am I suppose to test for resistance? Maybe it's one wire and ground for one set of buttons, and another wire and ground for another set?

I have the following buttons on this thing:

Mute;
Off
Seek up
Seek down
Volume up
Volume down
Preset disc up
Preset disc down
Source
3 more buttons unmarked

Looks good to me!

Looks like a Sony RM-X2S.
I have one and it works great with Joycon.
Can't remember which two points to use on the stereo plug (I think it is the bottom two), but I just picked up a stereo jack from The Source (used to be Radio Shack in Canada), and figured out which two points supplied a resistance.

Thanks, yes, I google around for RM-X2S and you're right!

I think there's supposed to be a base to attach it to the car, but I don't have that anymore. How did you fix the base, screws, glue, velcro, double sided tape?

I'm thinking only screws will hold, but I'll have to source the part first, because Infiniti parts can be hugely expensive (but sometimes not, better know that before start drilling holes around).

I also found this (here):

___------.

---___ |

|| Pin 1 GND - black wire

|| Pin 2 Shift - white wire

|| Pin 3 AD - red wire

0 Ω Off

4.4k Ω Mute
6.6k Ω List(Disp)
8.8k Ω Seek up
12.1k Ω Seek down
16.8k Ω Volume up
23.6k Ω Volume down
33.6k Ω Select
48.6k Ω Mode

So I guess it should work.

Mine was also missing the base, so at the moment I'm using some industrial strength velcro.
Might look at something more secure later, but I am still in testing mode in the car.

just finished installing my rcjoycon on my infiniti. I got rid of the oem radio, so I didn't have to try tapping any wires. Works great...hopefully better than the fusion brain did for me. For whatever reason, the FB would randomly crash and the buttons would go crazy.

I'm using the RC Joy Con in my RX-8.. Works just as advertised and does the trick. The only problem Im facing is that when I boot up form hibernation, and the Joy Con is plugged in, it lags about 8-10 seconds before I can use the touch screen or the steering buttons. When its unplugged everything works fine..

I just ordered it! Supposed to arrive in 7 days.

Now I think I'm going to dril on that rheostat cover. This part costs $82 bucks,(no.10 in the drawing linked) but I think I can fill it in with putty, sand it, paint it black, it will look stock when I finally sell the car. Now I gotta find the base though. If I glue it in I'm afraid it's going to brake more than a cover if I ever decide to remove it. I'll try industrial velcro first, but I'm afraid it's going to wobble a bit.

As for hibernation, yes, I'm concerned with it. Have you tried using xport to fix this?

What do you mean? I use Xport for my GPS problem, what else can it do for me?

That's what that list of drivers in the bottom of the Xport window is for.

According to their website:

Quote:
Fixes most hibernation issues. Any USB device, including hubs can be automatically stopped and restarted when hibernating.
(...)
The device list at the bottom works much like DevCon, and is for devices that have trouble with hibernation. Check only the devices you have trouble with. XPort will stop the driver before hibernation, then start after resume, then retry any driver that fails to start a few seconds later. Use with caution. Some devices may freeze XPort or fail to disable or enable. Test each device by disabling/enabling in Device Manager.
Cool, huh? Hope it helps.
