Hey snbe82,
It seems that you have received the same errors as Z and I. When you did this mod on your adapter, what 12v wire did you use? Did you leave it on the same wire as the ibus plug or did you rewire from your 12v switch for your radio?
Also, its seems that the problems I get for normal use is the same symptoms as hiberation. I have to either restart ibuscommunicator or close and reopen the port. And like Z said, sometimes it goes hours, other times just a few minutes...
But either way, I love being able to control from my steering wheel (after soon long!)
Thanks everyone.

Hey caenis,
Like AnandP83 said, the IBus plug isn't really designed to plug straight into the adaptor, even though it fits. I re-did the plug running a wire straight from the battery (or the equivalent) for the 12v, and a wire to the chassis for the ground. The only wire kept from the plug was the IBus wire. However, even though this is how it is supposed to be.. re-wiring the plug like this did not solve my issues (no blinkers, no a/c, messed up lights, etc). Since this did not work, I had to perform a mod on the adaptor itself in which I had to actually cut some of the paths on the circuit board and solder wires onto it. This is all described in detail in the link on my last post. After I did this mod, my problems were solved!
The hibernation issue is a completely different issue independent of the power mod. I haven't got a chance to work with it yet, but I think a simple devcon .bat file will have the program closed and re-opened which will solve that problem

Ibus Communicator
Hi there, i've recently built a new Car Computer, and was lucky enough to obtain one of Resler's USB Ibus interfaces and am very keen to get this working with my steering wheel controls.
So i was wondering if it's not to much to ask if someone could possibly email me or provide me with a link to the Ibus Communicator software, as i'm looking to use Centrafuse to act as the front end.
Many thanks in advance.

ibus communicator for dummies
Sombody here can give me a short description how to set up the ibus network ?
I mean:
- What radio I have to setup in Centrafuse ?
- Where to copy install the ibus communicator files on my pc ?
- What further things I must do to make the ibus communicator listening to centrafuse ?
I made a test installation with a bmw business radio, a bmw mid (to check the messages and generate button messages) and most things are working. But the communicator only listen to the radio and the mid, not to centrafuse.
Thanks for any help. Be shure everthing I find out new I will make public here later.
BMW

new features?? maybe???
I got an idea and I'm working around to have it, but this could be implemented on the IBusCommunicator (when AnandP83 has the time, of course).
I used the R/T button to navigate among screens, in Road Runner, like:
.... Playlist -> Music -> Navigation -> Playlist...
I wanted to do it at Centrafuse, but it seems that is not possible. So I'm trying to find a external software that counts the R/T codes and send different keystrokes in order to circle around different screens.
Example:
Hit R/T once (count=1, Keystroke send to CF=playlist), second (count=2, Keystroke send to CF=Music), third (count=3, Keystroke send to CF=Navigation) them the count is set to 0.
I guess this could be implemented in IBusCommunicator, if more people think it is interesting. Just an idea.
Also, we need AnandP83 to have the time to work on that for us.
Anyway...just an idea of future features...
If I can find a sotware that can do that, or program it...I will post it here..
BR,
Z

If there is a hotkey assigned for it in the CF hotkey setup, it should be possible. There are no external hooks that I can use that I know of to switch screens. Also, it takes away from the fact that this software could be used with any application. I did not want to make it CF specific. If I get some time next month, I will try again to work on a CF plug-in.

Yuo are right
AnandP83,
You are right, if there was something in centrafuse, that would work. The problem is that they assign one hotkey for each screen, and there is no hotkey to toogle between specific screens.
I'm working on a small software that captures the output keystroke from IBusCommunicator and changes it to make the screen toogle.
I guess the feature request has to be sent to Centrafuse . IBusCommunicator works as supposed to.

Let's see what CF3 has to offer first before we go requesting new stuff for 2.x. From the youtube video, it looks pretty damn cool.

He guys, I know that any future development of this app is stalled until centrafuse 3.0 comes out, but i had this running with vista x86 and centrafuse 2.1. Well I upgraded equipment and install windows 7 x64 and i can not get it working at all. Sadly, i didn't save my xml config file. I see the app registering the buttons being pressed (f1, f2, etc) but they do not work with centrafuse. Any ideas or can some post the options we select on the ibus communicator screen or better yet, post your e46 xml config file? thanks guys
