IBus Communicator

Yeah the name is really original.... ha

Well I think its ready for some testing. I need two people, that will send me the Error.log...preferablly everytime they use it. They application is smart enough to reconnect on errors so it should not stop completely. I will send you the files via email or whatever...

So things to note:
0) I think there is something wrong with the .Net comPort class. I am getting random "3F" (63) even though I have the parity replace set to to (byte) '\0' - a null byte.... FIXED
0) your Ibus codes might be different. I think I need to use a better ground to perhaps see if that clears up the ambiguity. The ground from the cd changer is not doing a great job - the developer of NAVcoder informed me of this. However the steering volume and next previous are fine. The phone and R/T are weird.... Fixed (by Proxy of #1)
1) The XML config file "Keys" tag is NOT to be messed with....
2) when doing key combinations with SHIFT, CONTROL, ALTERNATE.. etc must be before any other keys
3) look at the XML file for Key names, all keys must be seperated with a space
4) it uses a lot of processor for the logging - temporary.... Fixed (toned it down)
5) i am working on a true CF plugin....WIP

some screen shots...

Please look up at post number 1. there is a link there. Let me know what ibus hex string your Phone and R/T end up being.

To see, make sure you have "show all traffic" selected and see what shows up when you press those buttons... their might be two for a release event. They will start with 5004(Phone) and 5003(R/T)....

I hate the gators....

Can I add extra buttons into the xml file?

Also, it would be very handy to have CD changer emulation, if you could somehow add it in it would be very cool

yeah, just follow one of the other<Message> xml node (not the idle and shutdown ones... those are different).... you have to know the ibus hex string for it.... i don't have a list because whoever is running the show at hacktheibus yahoo group, is not responding. Also, i would have no way of testing that. my dashboard never showed that so I am not sure if that is supported on all vehicles.

well, that would be cool if i could get the track name to be shown. i see that that has been done with a hackedup iBUSCOMM and road runner... so i could port it over. But i do not know how to get the track name from outside the application. which is why i am going to make a plugin.

I do not really need to have all those buttons and ****... the baudrate, stop bit.. etc is always going to be the same. all that needs to be altered on a per system basis is the comPort number.

Yeah not too worried about MP3 text, more interested in the CD changer poll response so the car thinks there's a cd changer plugged in when IbusCommunicator is running and therefore you can use the CD Changer audio line for the carPC.

I'm pretty sure my R/T and Phone button codes were the ones I posted in the other thread but I'll double check when I get a chance. Been pretty busy but I'm pretty keen to give the app a good working.
