CF2.0 final I have the bu-353 gps receiver. I thought it was the receiver that didn't like hibernation but I found this thread... Last edited by a2carat; August 24th, 2008 at 06:35 PM. Reason: gps receiver |

Ive had the same problem before but Xport3 fixes it.
I use the BU-353 also. I never have a problem with GPS data as long as Xport3 is running. Code:
Make sure you split the port into one more than you need. Example #1: You use Centrafuse with the GPS antenna (total of 1 GPS application): say GPS is on COM4 Have Xport3 split the GPS com port into 2 ports (COM6 & COM7 for example) Example #2 You use Centrafuse, iGuidance and GPSinfo with the GPS antenna (total of 3 GPS applications) say GPS is on COM4 Have Xport3 split the the GPS com port into 4 ports (COM6, COM7, COM8 & COM9 for example)

I have been using final version from the moment it was released. Everything else works great, but I'm having minor problem with navigation and gps.
I posted earlier, that problem occurs after resuming from hibernate or standby. Gps port can't be initialized. Well, xport solved that problem but now I found out that when using navigation in a long trip (long time), suddenly there's a red cross in the middle of the map. Then I'm checking receivers status from the xport, and gps receiver is working fine according xport. I can see latitude and logitude points in the lower part of the xport and they are updating all the time. Still there's red cross in CF navigation screen. - restarted CF -> doesn't help - turned GPS receiver off and on -> doesn't help - started xport again -> no help for CF - started windows again -> navigation works Don't know if this was helping anyone, but if you guys have any ideas what's happening and what might cause this issue, I would love to hear it.

Chances are that you just lost the lock on the satellite. You can tap on the street name at the top of CF NAV to see how many satellites are locked and compare that with another program like GPS Info. Maybe it just needed some time to reconnect/lock on to it again, so when you restarted Windows it connected back again.

Yeah, you could be right. Xport was doing something with gpe receiver, but that doesn't tell me how many satellites it was connected. I'm going to check that next time problem occurs.
I checked satellite status in CF when this happened. Satellites were stuck on 10 and altitude weren't changing at all.

After I've reinstalled windows I got xport working too.
Although I still think it cannot be a permanent solution asking the customers to "hack" centrafuse using a 3rd party tool... ![]() But it can may be degraded in priority. |

Same Problem
I'm having the same issue.
I'm using a BU-353 Mine seems to be more unreliable than others. Most of the time it just doesn't work. Using GPS info I can see there are about 10 satelites aquired but in CF I keep getting the Red Cross. The GPS has been found twice in the 20 or 30 times I've tried. I tried Xport however it has never helped. Anyone got any ideas? Cam |
