Just my opinion: I apologize in advance...

Can we not make "a fresh install" a solution to every issue that a user has? I believe that part of the test/RC release is to find out solutions for issues that can occur during an upgrade. To keep users settings intact etc etc.

If people are going to get suggested to do a fresh install, CF develops may miss issues that occur during an upgrade. If its not a "bug" because its obivious that only one/two people are having this issue, just move the tread out of the Bug Reports list.

But please dont keep asking everyone to do a fresh install and make that a solution.

Once again, I apologize because this may sound rude, but there are users here that are trying to help each other out also (me for one) to take away some burden from the developer/support team.

You must do a fresh install for RC7, you cannot run RC7 as an update because it's not an update. RC7 is an installer.

This is outlined in the release notes for RC7.

The deal is, that the developers must check all reported bugs. if users here aren't looking for developer support when reporting an issue, then a thread should be started outside of the bug reporting forum.

The time that the developers must spend to read through these threads to figure out that the poster isn't reporting a bug is time that they can't spend developing or finding issues for true bugs.

Does this make sense? I hope you can understand.

Maybe the developers should give the thread some time to populate and see if its just that user or its a general issue. Make some type of rule or something that if the issue is reported (with legit system reports) by 3 or more user, than consider it and work on it. If not, move it outside the Bugs folder and let users discuss it amongst themselves.

Once again, just a suggestion.

we plan to work on a better bug report system, but this is what we have for now...

the update testing is exactly what we did...

we had RC4 as the only installer and made it all the way up to RC6.1, testing our update system...

we now had other issues with the installer itself that needed to be tested in a fresh install scenario before we go final...

Believe me, I'm currently working on a better bug reporting solution.

I just have a few more things to iron out and it will be all set.

Problem still the same....... it seems to be a Bluetooth stack delay more than a Centrafuse thing.

I know you guys said its not something you planned on supporting, but I wish you would reconsider. For me personally it's a very valuable part of the whole system and I think for other people it will also be something that they'd want to work well too.

It can't be that hard to ask the Bluetooth stack supplier to look into it can it ??

do you use the weather plugin? this was previously related to waiting on the weather plugin to timeout when the internet connection was cancelled...

remove the weather plugin and see if it stops...

Yes I do use it, but as you'll see further back in the thread, this had no effect once removed.

Pretty confident it's related to the stack itself........
