Centrafuse stalls on DUN disconnection

Hi Scott,

Found this one whilst testing the DUN via Bluetooth side of things.

It's unlikely that I'll be using Wifi in the car when remote so my only chance of getting internet access is via DUN through my phone.

This works well for my laptop and happily dials and connects on my Car PC when out of Centrafuse, however in Centrafuse it connects perfectly and I can do what's needed, but when I click the green status bar in the main Centrafuse screen it freezes for approx 30 seconds....... seems like it's gone, but then if you wait long enough comes back to life and carries on working.

Don't have access to the CAR PC from here now, but will post log later if you need it.

PS this is RC6, yes I've checked this time, it really is what version I say it is

yup post up that log, i will take a look, but just a warning, we aren't supporting that profile on the stack. It's a "it works if you can get it to work" proposition. But I will still take a look, could be something simple...

Hi Scott,

Sorry it took me a couple of days to get it posted. Just did a totally fresh install of the PC and new install of Centrafuse just to be sure before I posted.

Still does it. It's a shame you're not going to support the DUN bluetooth feature, I think you should potentially reconsider if possible as here and no doubt in other countries it's one of the easiest solutions for mobile data and since a fair few people will have their phone paired with the PC already for voice it's a very easy solution.

The PC doesn't stall when outside of Centrafuse, so I'm assuming it should be able to be resolved by you guys eventually.

Please find log attached. Opened centrafuse, made DUN connection, opened web to make sure it was connected, closed web then disconnected. Menu stalled for about 20-30 seconds.

is this trying to use the Settings/Internet stuff in Centrafuse? Can you connect your DUN connection outside Centrafuse, then just load Centrafuse and have it run and not use Centrafuse to dial or disconnect the connection?

Regardless of whether I connect it within Centrafuse or connect it outside of Centrafuse and then load Centrafuse afterwards it works perfectly.

The problem only appears when I disconnect from within Centrafuse using the status button. I haven't actually tried minimizing Centrafuse and disconnecting the DUN connection manually to see if that causes the same issue though thinking about it........ but making and breaking a connection outside of Centrafuse is fine, making a connection within Centrafuse is fine, it's only when I break the connection within Centrafuse that it stalls Centrafuse for 30 seconds or there abouts......

Thanks for the help.

try to disconnect from outside Centrafuse, if this works then it is an issue with the DUN code in Centrafuse, which hasn't been worked on or changed in quite awhile...

are you XP or Vista?

let me know if it disconnects fine outside of Centrafuse...

Ok the short answer is sometimes

I've been testing it for the last couple of hours and within Centrafuse it's very consistent, when you disconnected inside it freezes....... every time without fail.

When I connect within Centrafuse or outside of Centrafuse, and then disconnect outside of Centrafuse it disconnects straight away as far as TCP traffic flowing across, however it seems that when Centrafuse polls to check connectivity to change the display from green to red, sometimes it goes red straight after the disconnect (like 1-2 seconds) and everything carries on working, sometimes however when the status light is green all is well for maybe 10 seconds, then it will freeze for about 20-30 seconds, then connector turns red and it comes back to life.

Hope that's of some help. Windows itself is working perfectly and doesn't stall so I can only conclude it's an issue with the status of the connection that Centrafuse is waiting on.........

Thanks heaps for the help

when you disconnect in Centrafuse, does it eventually come back?

Can you try to remove the Weather plugin and see if it all works fine?

It looks like this is the Weather plugin, after you disconnect, thinking it still has a connection, and taking a long time to time out...
