MyMobiler Embedded CF App for Windows Mobile Remote Control

Would anyone be interested in developing a plugin which works with Windows Mobile so you can control the device using a remote control app, right from within CentraFuse?

TrueConnect has a similar feature but it's not freeware. However, MyMobiler is freeware and I've already used the app which works flawlessly.

I've used both Bluetooth and USB to connect to my Windows Mobile. I'm not sure which is the better method to be honest. USB is good as it charges your phone at the same time and is a hardwired connection so better performance. Bluetooth is good due to no wires but kills the battery. If Bluetooth was already connected for the phone features, could MyMobiler use this same connection for remote control??

My thoughts are that when ever the phone rings or you need to make a call, the MyMobiler app would appear inside CentraFuse as landscape and at 200% with only the Windows Mobile screen appearing and no other buttons from the MyMobiler app. I understand there are default settings that can be applied to the MyMobiler app which can help achieve this.

Unfortunatly, embedding apps into CF is a little out of my capabilities.

Is anyone else with Windows Mobile looking for this functionality?

Looks like someone has tried to do something like what I'm after with RR over on MP3Car.com... Windows Mobile Phone Control - MP3Car.com

and here with mediate ice... http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/soft...skin-6ice.html

Anyone fancy doing similar integration with CF?

Certainly hope the gurus here will work on this plug-in being full phone functionality in CF2 is still not supported not to mentioned the complication involve compare to straight forward remote control of the phone.

This would be a considerably better way to handle the phone in a car pc environment. I prefer the bluetooth headset to the incar systems anyway.
I embedded the app at 200% zoom and it is usable and readable. Probably going to tinker some more tomorrow.

I've been thinking about this my self and I thought a mini client using the wifi connection would be better my self seeing as CF has a web server option etc.... on thing is it needs a programmer for the WM6 app.

I think voice transmission is best via bluetooth headset (no lag, echo issues). As for the mode of connection between the PC and phone, cable would charge the phone battery at the same time while offering a much more stable if not faster connection compared to wifi and bluetooth which also drains the phone battery and will require frequent charging anyway.

Sometimes, the simpliest solution works better rather than re-inventing the wheels.

Remote control software such as MyMobiler offers just that although limited to PPC/smartphones only. No hassle of transfering of contacts/sms needed.

Embedding into CF and enlarging the display by editing the MyMobiler.ini is not a problem but the default skin only works in portrait orientation leaving a whole lot of screen unused and thus the interface is too small to be eyes and fingers friendly for a 7" touch screen car pc. It just need a skin (perhaps landscape) with large buttons/interface for car pc usage. For those phones that does not support landscape, the skin could have the menu buttons on the sides rather than below the PPC screen.

Wonder if there's any other remote control software that will work better as an embedded appz in CF.

I would also like to request someone to make a plugin for this application.
I allready have a bluetooth carkit in the car, so it would be perfect to control my HTC Touch HD.

I was previously using the skin posted in mp3car for my TyTN II and it was passable except MyMobiler always acts up after a few runs in CF.

I've since change my phone to Touch HD too. I'm also looking for plugin/skin for my it. I've found WVGA HTC Touch HD Skin (Vertical AND Horizontal) but however, MyMobiler only works in landscape or portrait one at a time.

It'll be a waste if it G-Sensor cannot be put to good use anytime we want it. I've found Pocket Controller-Pro does support landscape and portrait on the fly. The only thing is the lack of a good skin without the bezel but with buttons that does not take up too much of the screen so it can be finger and eyes friendly. And also some way to alway maximize the screen in both modes.
