Fantastic google earth on CF !

Hi guy, finally i'm successful to see google earth on CF, it's like an external application, i have made a cache of my country (maximum is 2gb, i've used about 200 mb) then I have bought the licence for google earth plus (20$), for using GPS, then disconnect from internet and GO on the street...successful the GPS follow me. Unfortunately is not an application "plug and play" he need of some settings, but if our BIG DAVID work on a plug-in we can easy to arrive to one good solution .Bye Cristiano.

ZERO
If google charged $500 to be able to save an entire nation worth of maps I would pay it and I would even get the 3TBs to store it. :google:

Google Maps

I understand the desire to run google earth, I am a huge fan. The application itself seems a bit slow on most of the systems I have tried and when I increase the cache size it seems to get worse even though I have 1.5 tb on my home system so not short on storage or ram (1gb).

What about running google maps through the browser? can it be used with gps? I know they use the same imagery so is it possible to cache or download a state? How much data would downloading an average state in satellite and map mode take up? Any ideas?

Whats wrong with using destinator? It served me great for the past 2 years, never had an issue with it.

Okay might not be pretty (PDA version) but CF has integrated with it nicely so y bother with google and having to download their maps to pc before use or how ever it works .......

if they only gave map data to download

Im running memory map over here in the uk which does the same as google earth but it also has the Governments ordenance servey maps so if im off roading or four wheeling as you guys call it over the pond i can see if i am on a right of way it also gives contour lines so i can see if its gonna be steep but the best bit i like is i can program a route and "fly "it in 3d with either o/s maps or photo maps like google earths maps it did cost me £300 for the whole of the uk maps but you do get quite a few maps with it photo,Street,o/s and more but it wont navigate for you but it does show a bread crumb trail of where you are and where you have been which helps when you bump into bl**dy ramblers saying you should no be on their lane and the you show them the Governments maps showing that you are which upset em a lot

why don't we work together to make a plug-in for google earth or google maps that work similar to the iphone interface for maps and also intigrate it with contacts from ur phone list and web via an address link.

IMO the iphone is a huge step in integration, simplicity, and touch control and could serve as a great model for car pc interfaces. My friend has one and i wish it was bigger as I would just use that as my car pc.

Integration is the key here, and google, since they own the world and the moon... and almost everything else.

making a plugin to show your course on google earth would be relatively easy. I believe Vegasguy55 is working on google navigation as we speak. There's also his traffic plugin which already uses google navigation successfully.
