Wolfgang928, thank you for replying.
These files are not that huge but nevertheless exceed forum limits to be attached here.
Hopefully, they can be downloaded w/o registering at Malsingmaps.com
forum.
I'll extract the important bits over here.

There are also many other POIs that I use with Garmin Mobile PC
e.g.
Traffic Light Camera POI (New Series) - 29th August 2009 &
SG ERP Gantry POIs for Nuvi - Updated 25th October 2008 but I'll only require to be taught how to fish once so to speak and I think I should be able to handle the rest myself.
Prior to your reply, I've tried using GPSBabel to convert the speed trap poi gpi file to all Garmin formats listed by GPSBabel but not all formats are converted successfully. The list of Garmin formats option are automatically assigned different file extensions except for Garmin POI database format which does not have any extension. So I added gpx and mdb extention to Garmin POI database format since those are not already covered by the list (taking a stab in the dark since I don't know the proper extension). I've also converted the gpi to csv (1st option in GBSBabel is a generic csv format?). All these files are kept in the import directory I've set in your plugin. I've also selected Garmin database format in your plugin. However, of the lot, only the csv file was detected by the import function of the plugin. At that point, I was thinking I should perhaps first find out the proper file format and extension that is supported by the plugin import function before I delve deeper into the plugin itself to set up the full database as my impression was that Garmin database option in the plugin could be refereing to other format other than csv since is a generic format (yes/no?).
From what I've read, the gpi files are created from multiple gpx or csv files grouped by category e.g. 80 and 90 speed limits are individual files. Associate bitmaps and audio must have the same file names in the same directory as the gpx/csv files before using
Garmin POI Loader to load the gpx/csv which will then prompt to use default proximity distance alert settings or customized it.
I've also read that conversion to csv will lose the proximity distance alert settings, bitmaps and audio files.
If the only way to import is via csv and if my understanding is correct, there'll be lots of work to recreate the database as that will mean I've to figure the best way to recategorized them into separate files, find the appropriate bitmaps and audio.
I've sent a private message to the creator of the gpi files to request for the raw data. Even with this raw data, I suppose there is still a fair bit of work on my part to make it work with the plugin but at least that will allow me an easier start as a newbie to both the plugin and creating proximity alerts.
Hopefully, you'll tell me there's an easier way out.
Sorry for the long post but I thought I should provide more details on my understanding or lack of it and what I've done so far instead of to and fro posting so that you can advise me accordingly before I can move on to the next part.
Cheers!
