Sirius Solution While We Are Waiting....

I tweaked the demo app that Mitch includes with his interface box so that it is more conducive to Car use. It is not great but should work while we wait for the official plugin. I have not actually tried it in the car, with a Sirius tuner, so I hope it works! All that I ask is that you let me know how (if) it works for you!

To install, First Install .NET 2.0, if not installed then unzip the attached file to a folder, I chose C:\Program Files\Flux Media. Then add the app as an external app, using the settings pictured, and add it as a button in CF.

Here is what it looks like when running (not on a PC with Sirius tuner attached):

It has been a little buggy showing up properly in CF. I have found that if I hit the off button, then reselect it from the CF menu, it behaves the second time (strange).

Tried it last night and it works! Some problems with font sizes. Also, I thought the PID field was the Info Display (Program Info Display), but I was wrong, it is Program ID, so I will be removing it, making the song info fields bigger, and multiline so longer titles will wrap. I will post the update once I get these changes in and try them.

Update attachment in the first post. I gotta say, it works pretty good. I am sure the official plugin will be way better, but for now...it works.

Let me know if it works for you!

Is there any way to have this toggle line-in on/off when it is launched?

Probably, however finding time to tweak it is difficult. If I get some time I will take a look......

If anyone wants the source code to enhance or change it, let me know. It is .NET 2.0 and C#.

I wouldn't put a lot more work into it because i've heard that they maybe have a working sirius plugin as early as this weekend.

True. This was just a "quick and dirty" for us impatient types!

Still haven't tried it, i will this saturday.

The reason I asked about the line-in muting is because i get some NASTY alternator whine throguh my sirius unit. i'm too lazy to fix that.

My sirius unit (the MJS one) DOEs support digital optical out, and so does my TB Roadie, but i can't get them to place nice together for whatever reason. If anyone has tried, please let me know. I'm assuming the digital signal will eliminate my noise.
