New Contacts plugin - Page 2

Hi Zorro,
bad surprise for me.
your new contact works very well in my test environment BUT not at all in the car......

The plugin starts properly, shows the interface as expected BUT no contact at all is found.
Strange isn't it !

It works fine in :
Vista US with CF RC1
Contact folder is C:\Users\<username>\Contacts
Aura

It does not work as described above in:
Infill G4
XP SP2 French
CF RC3 French XLE
Contact folder is C:\Echange_Bluetooth
Aura

Any idea?
Is there something to do to investigate? A log?

There's a Contacts.log in the CF folder. Please post this.

I keep getting one of these errors when I start CF...

Do I just need to reinstall the plugin?

I get the same error as nintwala; I downloaded the plugin through the pluginbrowser, so I assume that would be the most recent version... or is there a 'current' version I'd need to grab from elsewhere?

I see that it's referencing a cfbeta1.4.lic file... is that file what determines whether or not the Contacts plugin will run?

The Beta has expired and the Contacts plugin will not be available for free anymore.

Yes, there will be one with the next release. I'm just fixing up some bugs I've found recenly.

Hi Zorro, I think this is the best plugin for CF. I do congratulate you for that. However I've found two problems (bugs) with this plugin which are the next:

1. When I modify a contact (for example adding a photo) characters as á, ñ, ö... turn into |#, "& ... (these are examples). The consecuence is that living in Spain (España) destinator sometimes goes crazy with addresses for that reason.

2. I'd like to transfer one contact from my phone (through BluetoothControl plugin) to the Contacts plugin. Text fields are OK, but photo is not recorded. The same happens when I convert my Outlook contacts to Vcard ones. Photo doesn't appear neither in Vcard nor Contacts plugin and I have to do manually (I have about 60 contacts :S).

It would be nice if everytime I go into my car it syncronices my phone contacts and the ones from the computer (calendar included).

By the way, calendar plugin doesn't record birthdays from the bithday field contained in contacts

1. I will look into it. Can you send me a vCard created with Contacts?
2. BluetoothControl plug-in is not longer supported because the Bluetooth stack has changed. Because of the problems I was facing with PhoCo and the Bluetooth stack, I'm not going to port it to the new stack (nor will I focus on phones or Bluetooth unless hell freezes over

).

As far as I know, the birthday feature has never been integrated into the Calendar plug-in. You have to talk to the creator of this plug-in.
