iPod Plugin

Hello,

today i tested the new CF2 beta and i saw a wonderful plugin, the ipod plugin. After the install and registration i started testing the new CF and i found out that i can not use it, because my carpc just isnt able to work with it (epia m2 - 600mhz samuel), so i would like to know if it is possible to get it for the CF 1.47, or if anybody else did it arleady?

Regards,
Mark

re

hi,

the problem with cf 2.0 was that my carpc specs just suck, 600mhz cpu and 512mb of ram, by which cf 1.47 works good, not excelent but with cf 2.0 it works terrible, the music is skipping and the navigation freezes every 5seconds, and after all there is nothing new in 2.0 except the iPod Plugin...
If there is no official plugin released, did anybody made an unofficial, if not, then im going to make it on my own ...

regards,
mark

you should be able to get 2.0 to work just about as good as 1.47 on your system...

go to advanced settings and disable Enhanced Graphics, edit the file "C:\Program Files\Flux Media\Centrafuse\UserData\GPSTMC.ini" and put MapDelay back to 400, disable cross fading...

that should make it run just about the same as 1.47

Bringing the post back:

I'm unable to get the ipod plugin working in rc1-6 (not tried 7 yet as I need to download the whole lot) Basically my ipod is not recognised in windows even in disk mode. Where there any drivers needing to be installed that I've missed.

Rather than the "New Hardware Found" box I would usually get, I just get the little usb icon in the system tray and when clicked - "Unrecognised Device".

Thanks,

I have had no issues with the Ipod plugin in any of the release candidates nor the current release. The only issues I have had is being able to play movies which I can probably figure out once I get the right codecs. I have used my Ipod thru Hubs, Directly, and even thru a daisy chain of Hubs (Motherboard->Hub->Hub2->Ipod). Also you should check to see if your PC is detecting the Ipod outside of centrafuse, I know my PC detectes the Ipod right away and even gives me an option to explore it. From what I know there are no drivers (XP and Vista) for the Ipod, it is just plug-and-play. Another troubleshooting step would be to see if you can get Itunes working and see if Itunes can find your Ipod, if it isn't working at that point I would call Apple not Fluxmedia.

Thanks - yeah the troubleshooting I posted above was all outside of CF - unfort the ipod is a 5th gen so out of warranty - however the ipod works perfectly in disk mode and normal mode on my laptop with the same cable direct and through a hub.

Pendrives in the usb socket on the carpc work fine however.

Just wondered if anyone else has had the same issues, certaintly not pinning blame!

Sorry if it came across wrong, I just wanted to let you know that there are people out there who have it working fine. But your issues do sound like there is something fishy going on with your USB ports...
