Anyone knows if this USB capture device with a camera connected to it will work with the park distance control plugin:

I've installed the PDC Controller and plugin and it already worked... -But I'm having some very strange problems now:

I start CF, everything looks fine, but as soon as I switch to the reverse gear (where the plugin should be evoked) the USB device somehow seems to be removed?!

I've posted two logfiles here:
pdc.log (with the newer DLL Wolfgang posted here)
Thats my recorded tests from today

pdc.log.old
An old PDC logfile (some days ago) were it worked.

So what I've tested (according to the new logfile):

Rebooted Windows, started CF [at: 32:28:64>]
Device seems to send Data [32:41:85>]
Switched Reverse gear [33:52:03>]
==> here the device seems to get removed, so I went curious and opened the device manager in windows, switched to front gear: Two HID devices were present, than I switched to rear and I could see that the two HID devices got removed?!

Finally I've played around with the PDC settings at [35:44:60>], i.ex. switched from PID=2 to PID=3

=> Is this normal that I get to HID devices (ID 2+3) even though I have only one controller?


First I've thought that I might have soldered the wires in the wrong direction, but this would still not explain why it already worked perfectly before (and still does this once in a while, very seldom, though)
-I could see the difference in entries like:

I also have the display connected and there it works all the time.

Hi Dejan & Wolfgang

I purchased the kit complete with Dejan.
Once installed the kit and the plugin for CF have a problem.
The system works perfectly, but when hibernate without closing the CF, the deshibernar the PDC does not work, I have to close the CF and return to run for the PDC to work well again.

Is there any solution to the problem?

As I have the same Problem, could you let me know what "PS holmes application" is and where to get it? Couldn't find anything about this on google...

Cool, that was just the tool I've been looking for a while ago.
But isn't that more for problem diagnosis and not solution? -I mean, how could that tool solve the problems with hibernation...?

BTW:
Meanwhile I could _partly_ solve/track down the problem: One issue was that somehow the USB of my GPS receiver got in conflict with the PDC, although they where hanging on even different root-hubs on the mainboard?!

Anyway, since I replaced the GPS cable with a serial cable (which is generally a very good idea! ) I could get it to work every time after reboot.

The issue I _still have_ however is that after hibernation -but also after a while driving- the PDC controllers HID driver turns to "degraded": Noticeable with an exclamation mark when opening the "windows device manager".
I can then get it to work again only if I close CF, choose "reinstall driver" in the device manager and start CF again or reboot the Car-PC.

So I suspect it could might be a power issue of the USB root-hub, which is directly connected to the mainboard. I now ordered an "active" USB hub with separate power connection and will try if that will be successfull (hopefully).

Well I use this exact one and initially I had a few issues getting it installed, but it turned out to be the cutdown version of XP I had on my car PC as it installed perfectly on other PC's. Anyway, resolved what I needed on the CAR PC and it works perfectly with the PDC plugin and CAM plugin also.

I have performed the test told me that, that is to try the soft stand alone in this way if it works perfectly to hibernate and deshibernar, however, in how to plug in the CF deshibernar to overwinter when I have to close and re-CF start to activate the plug-in.

Can you fix this?

Dejan other question, I noticed that the plug-in camera with system resources consumed very much and I get to 100%, which if I'm listening to the radio, this sounds intermittently, but if you turn off the camera at the PDC, and if it works radio perfectly.
