is there any other sofware that we can try with ibus?
How a program such as girder, which receives ibus commands and then sends them to cfuse.

Hi,
I am currnetly playing / working with the iBus.
I have a Bmw 330d e46 and i'm keen to get intregration with CF.
Played with some iBus software, and from a programming point of view, it doesnt seem to hard to write something that listens to it.
Got to dust off my c# / .net skills but i'm going to have a go a write an app and then a plugin to do stuff.

When I had time, I was going to write a listener to run as a system service, that sends the commands to CF. Just have not had the time.

Its figured out. I know what needs doing but just not done it yet. Basically the deal is that it needs to be a plugin to call CF api commands, eg volume up and down and sutff, as the simulated key presses dont work so well.

Update
Good News with CF moving to .net 2!
Code i've been writing is .net 2 code so should make things easier. Otherwise i was facing a rewrite in 1.1.
Are most poeple just interested in getting the steering wheel controls working?

Waiting for David
Hey all...
Just though I would give you an update, i've got the code working in my standlone test app, just waiting for David to provide the SDK / API for CF 2 so i can port it to a plugin (hopefully that wont be too hard)

Sully83 - are you using Reslers IBus interface?
I'm keen to get steering wheel commands as well as rotary encoder commands working....i.e. the knobs on either side boardmonitor:

I would not mind controlling everything the ibus supports... but mainly the wheel controls. Awsome....
