Lightbulb Garmin Mobile PC GMPC - Rebellium OSK & Skin w/ Voice Prompts

Video Review: I just found a website that has video of our plugin in action. Here is the link: Garmin Mobile Pc Centrafuse Plugin Demo | CarPC (Thank you to whoever made that video)

OK This is new part:
We now charging some bucks for our plugin. Recommended price is $10 but you can pay anything you want... as long as that is more then $1... Just adjust the price of the plugin to the amount you think it worth.

We raise money to be able to afford developments of CF3 release and doing all the bug fixes. You can find more information on this at the download section down below. Or you can go straight to ourwebsite and get the plugin there. Site: www.tempgp.com

UPDATE:

We finally have new version for GMPC native CF plug in. The biggest difference from old version is that CF volume is turned down while directions are outputed. So finally we have good garmin integration for our car navigation needs. Thanks a lot to deepulse for update!

Scroll doen and download V2.0.0.0

-----------------------------

Hey all its 1 AM and i finally have new beta of Garmin Mobile PC skin for CF that might work better then others. I didnt do all the things that I wanted as GMPC decided not to cooperate well... so i gone a bit different way through trial and error... and here is what we have.

So far I think my version of skin is much more reliable then othe scripted version as all provided functionality works within one application.

For beta there is no settings needed by end user, only requrements is to have GMPC to be installed in its default directory C:\GarminMobilePC\Que.exe otherwise you will get an error. (in future will make that configurable)

To start GMPC just add my app to CF as external application with regular screen mode.

I would recommend to run the installer for the app and that take files within installation folder (in zip file / Application Files / some app version/ xxx.exe) and put them where you can fimd them...

Oh yes: 800x600 resolution ONLY. I think i can work around for 7" Widescreen too but thats for extra $500

If you see any bugs reports them and i will do fixes.

Also let me know your opinions!

------------

================================================== =
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
================================================== =
You can install latest version v2.0.0.0 without removing v1.4.1.2 and earlier versions and assign them as separate buttons in CF because both are consider different applications. i.e. v2.0.0.0 does not install over older version.

However, since v1.4.1.2 and earlier versions require that you manually add it as an external application (refer to CF manual how to add external app) and if you've already named v1.4.1.2 and earlier versions external application as "Garmin", you may have a problem with v2.0.0.0 because it uses the same name. Therefore, to avoid confusion, you'll have to name it differently (perhaps named it as GMPC). For those who have not installed v1.4.1.2 or earlier version, it is better not to do so since tempgp will no longer support it.

For those having problems installing v2.0.0.0, I'll suggest you retry after removing the older versions.

To remove v1.4.1.2:

1) Refer to CF manual how to remove external application.

2) Remove Garmin Rebellium OSK Integrator Setup from Add/Remove Program.

3) Leave .Net Framework 3.5 or .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 alone if it's already installed as it is required by v2.0.0.0

To install v2.0.0.0:

1) Download and install .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (Full Package).
Download this full version from home which doesn't require further download if you have slow mobile internet on your car pc to install the bootstrapper version which does.
2) Download and install Deviare.
No further configuration needed for Deviare installation.
3) Download and unzip v2.0.0.0 GMPC OSK & Skin for those with .Net Framework 3.5 installed.
GMPC_Server.zip should unzip as a GMPC_Server folder where you put into C:\Program Files\Flux Media\Centrafuse\Plugins. There's no need to create a separate folder.

.Net Framework 2.0 GMPC OSK & Skin version is for those with only .Net Framework 2.0 installed and has not receive any feedback from any users yet.
4) Make sure GMPC path is correct.
Go to CF>SETTINGS>GARMIN(Setup)>GARMIN MOBILE PC LOCATION and make sure the path is correct if you did not install in the default location C:\Garmin\GarminMobilePC\Que.exe
5) Add Garmin to a CF button (refer to CF manual).

tempgp, perhaps you want to link this post in your 1st post so that users will run into less

================================================== ====
Tnx to CARZ for step by step instructions.

Download:
GMPC Rebellium is no longer free, we ask you to purchase files in a matter of donations. Recommended price is $10, but you can pay any price you think the plug-in worth it as ling as that price is more then $1. If you cant afford that ... thats sad, but if you really need that we can send you 1 copy for free. If you are installer we would appreciate if you pay any price you want but for every car you do! Thank you!

You can find .net 3.5 and 2.0 OSK files on our website.

Looks good, I like it...one suggestion, you can take out the "Keyboard" label and make the icon a little bigger to match the rest of the "Play" "Next" "Previous" icons.

I would love to test this but my GMPC is installed in non-default location. Hope to see your next version includes option to change it or if it's possible to manually edit the path in any xml file in the current version pls let me know.

The current garmin helper has 1 limitation in that even if GMPC is not in the foreground, if you happen to need to click the same spot that was assigned to bring up the keyboard for other purpose in other appz, it will bring up GMPC and keyboard in full screen blocking whatever I'm intending to do. Of course, the other being the keyboard itself lags terribly.

Just tested it. It looks good. No more accidentally bringing up the keyboard. However, where is the spacebar?
