Frequently Asked Questions.

Q. I don't have an internect connection in my car, can I still use this.

A. Yes, run this on your home PC obviously you will need to be running CentraFuse on the PC as well. Save the info and then copy the saved files folder

Q. I put in a new Postcode but the stations haven't changed or updated.

A. It is most likely the site does not have any stations near the zipcode you have entered or you do not have a connection to the internet.

Q. You have done CFFuelPrices for the US,UK,France,Germany and Australia any chance of doing it for <Insert Country here>?

A. First of all have a look at this thread on my forum, it explains why some countries have been looked at but are not suitable. However if you can find a website for your country that show the prices against individual stations, is searchable by postal code or GPS coords and doesn't show the price as a graphic, then post a link and I will have a look.

Q. How can I download this wonderful creation?

A. From the centrafuse downloads section or from my forumhere

Q. How do I install this?

A.Unzip the first zip to any location you like.
Then read the CFFuelPrices_User_Manual.pdf for Install and User instructions.

Q. I have registered on your site but am still not activated, why?

A. I do not monitor the forum registrations 24/7 so it could take hours or possibly a day or two before I can activate you. If I am going away I will normally put this info into the news section of the forum. If however after a few days of registering you have not been activated then contact me via PM here. Make sure you use the same username as you do on here, it will help you get activated quicker.

Q. I'm having problems registering with CF's browser.

A.
Login to my forum from Internet Explorer on the PC you are running the plugin.

make sure you check 'Log me on automatically each visit'

Q. This doesn't work for me what shall I do?

A.
First read the instruction manual provided. If the answer is not there I assume you have read these FAQ's? If still no answer, ask the question in this thread and/or email me with a debug.log to the email address in the manual.

Q. How do I get a debug.log?

A.
Go to Settings --> Fuel Prices and change debug on. The debug log can then be found in the FuelPrices folder in My Documents. You will need to find where the Centrafuse documents are held in this, in XP it will be D & S-->All Users-->Application Settings-->Centrafuse-->Centrafuse Auto-->Plugins

Do NOT under any circumstances publish a debug log on the forum.

Ok installed this lastnight and have some issues. Set it up and got only one station near me, now i know I have more. I re-entered the zipcode and then poof it came up. Then hit refresh and poof it was all gone except one again. I then when to the type of fuel and chose reg and poof they were back again. Only to bring PC up today to have the same issue and then nothing. I do have a verified Net connection and also a working GPS (Iguidance) so those arn't the probs.

Also could you put a setting that would allow you to choose the GPS app you want to route you to the gas station? Default is Destinator and I'm using Iguidance via FuseGuide so it's a no go for me.

Last one is that it displays the prices in black text, during a "Dimmed" state on the screen it's very hard to read the prices.

Don't get me wrong I really like the plugin! Just throwing out some things that either caught my eye or had an issue with.

Keep up the great work!

I'm noticing something similar too Enforcer. The problem is i have to manually select fuel type each time for the full list of stations to actually download. The fuel type gets reset to "am" each time CF3 is restarted.

Can you both zip up the FuelPrices folder in the

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Centrafuse\Centrafuse Auto\<username>\Plugins

And email it to the address in the User Manual.

If you are using Win 7 the path might be slightly different. Please mention this in the email.

For the GPS you will need to set the GPS port in CF as well as iGuidance, a com splitter will be needed for you to do this.

It will only work with destinator because that is the only navigation plugin that has full access to the navigation engine functions (as far as I am aware) and will allow GPS coords to be sent to it.

If the FuseGuide pluigin allows the sending of GPS coords to it and therefore onto iGuidance I can look into it.

Prices should be in white, see screenshot first post.

I'm not getting you wrong, I'm glad you have made the effort to comment on it. This is the only way developers know if the product works or doesn't work.

Cheers for the feedback.

<awaits for email notifications of arriving zip files>

I've only tested this slightly on my dev machines, works fine (except the distance which produces a blank table). I still have 2.2 & 3.0 running on seperate machines in the car but will take this for a test drive soon.....
