When the buffer is disabled you can't get a visual, use play controls to pause/rewind/fastforward, nor will the mixer work...
you just hear the audio as it's coming in the computer...
The echo is almost always a dual audio output issue... when buffering is turned on if you hit pause, do you still hear the audio? If so then you should not, something needs to be muted... When buffering is on you should only hear it through the file playback in Centrafuse...

If the Silabs does not have audio outputs to pipe into a line-in or mic-in, then you will need to run with the buffer turned off...

Then in this case,
if buffer is disabled, it could be interesting to use bckwd/fwd keys to switch to prev/next preset I think
I'm currently trying to make a CF plugin for this dongle.
I'll keep you posted

Well David,
I'll do my best
I'm not that good to overcome the buffer problem,
but making tune + RDS functions should be possible quite easily
The only thing is that it won't be possible to use the equalizer and time/shifting since buffering is disabled.

Can I ask where you buy one of these little bits of hardware? Looking at the Silabs website from the first page of this thread, they manufacture the ICs but don't sell the radio units themselves. Perhaps I'm wrong.
Can anyone point me at this please? Thanks guys.

The buffer issue is something I would have to fix... Centrafuse currently buffers by recording from the sound card by just chaging the record selection...
this doesn't work because I assume the Silabs creates a second sound card or something?
I can look into this, but an initial plugin would be helpful...

Yes the Silabs creates a second virtual sound card with only one recording channel which you can't change the level.
Unless you could also select the source input sound card, which could also be interesting for bluetooth matters in fact in the future (such as A2DP streaming for example )

this is possible I believe... I plan to do a lot of multiple sound card work after the initial release...
I would expect I will be able to get this fixed and implement it on the radio settings side, wouldn't affect the radio plugins...
so a standard plugin would still be very useful...
