Motorized Touchscreen for PC Control?

Has anyone looked in to the possibility of motorizing a Xenarc, Lilliput, etc. touchscreen so you could use a single DIN opening in the dash? Or is there a kit to buy that you can do it with?

I think the Infill S3 System is using a single DIN DashIn Touchscreen.

If your feeling adventurous, it shouldn't be too difficult to do with an old CDROM drive and a few catches, all hidden behind the dash.

A word of warning for people buying screens from ebay.

i got a motorised single din indash touch screen. The picture has waves running accross it. The remote control didnt work. And the worst problem is when the screen is cold colours distort, red shows as yellow.

To top it off it took so long for it to arrive, by the time i got it the seller woundn't allow me to return it.

Just completely shocking

the waves are usually made when you have an incorrect refresh rate for your resolution, try fiddling around with that, i had this problem, and setting it up correctly fixed that.

as silly as it sounds, have you checked the batteries in your remote?

the color distortion is something i haven't come across as of yet...

most sellers (in my experience) won't let you send stuff back... so there's no difference there

At any refresh rate it shows waves just some worse than others. The colours are still distorted till i get the hearter pumping onto the screen. The remote uses a 3v disc battery and is fine, the remote plainly doesnt work.

it looks cheap and is cheap. just a ripoff on ebay. the gears even grind on the screens housing which carves grooves into the plastic.

all the buttons are very creaky and plastic-y. Completely unreadable in sunlight and thats on a cloudy day, i cant imagine what it'll be like in summer.

Just poor quality, stay away from the ebay indash screens, take the time and make the effort to make an oem housing for a standard screen is my advice

There should be an easy way to fix some of your probs, point the remote into a camera just to see if its working, If you can get your hands on an IR receiver you can really check if it's working.
The waves could also be caused by "dirty power" try using a regulated psu. Bad ground connection of the screen, bad cable, ground loop. weak VGA signal in combination with cheap screen......

I would think it's somewhere in the cabling, causing also the colour errors. how does it work on other PC's with different conditions? Is it exactly the same!?
