H2 Skin (work in progress)

Hummer owners hit me up if you have any thoughts/ideas.

My goal is to mimic the style of other, neighboring OEM controls and the general dash color scheme...to give the skin an OEM feel.

Could you do this with red letters too?

And "Volkswagen" in the center?

it's really nice!

Thanks for the feedback thus far. I didn't have much time this weekend to work on this, but will be picking it back up tonight.

I've completed most of the work on the various screens and dialog boxes...I now need to focus on mods to the plug-in images.

I'll post some more pics soon.

Wow this skin looks great.

I think you should lessen the bevel a little bit, though. I think that would make it a bit more polished.

I've been debating about the bevel AND the stroke?

The entire skin is based off of Onyx and the majority of the buttons are simply altered versions of the original ones included in the Onyx skin (decreased brightness, satin overlay, and black 3px stroke around the outter edge). It was a quicker fix to alter the existing buttons then to actually recreate each and every button individually for each panel.

Lately though I've been thinking that it might be worth it, plus it would give me a working Photoshop document for each panel type (main, media library, nav, etc.) that could be easily altered in the future.

I'm also thinking of dropping the stroke down to 1 or 2px. The stroke was included to give the impression that the button sat in a 'hole' and that the surrounding surface was a bezel (colored to match the rest of the dash).

I'll toy around with it though...and post some new pics today or tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've been working the last two days on incorporating more of and OEM look and some of the suggestions I've received from other users.

Here's a snapshot of the new version. Feedback welcome.

I really like the look of this skin. Great work, I know how time consuming this can be. Keep it up and I look forward to the finished product. I know I will be giving it a try as soon as you post it.
