I hope Scott, David or Reagan see this post and can give us more Info. Currently we stop the development on this skin.xml, because it is much work and later we have to do it again.
Request for a short answer from the Flux Team. Thanks Guys.

Just my 2 cents worth.
EDIT... surely dialog boxes should always be the top most object so never needed to be transparent.

Well they require transparency on the dialog boxes because they have shadows on them - so if they REALLY dont support it it isnt a big issue, but we would surely like if they did.

yup - we are still finishing up the rest of the plugins and Marcel is still coding the skin + working on about 5+ other CF plugins - so our time is stretched pretty thin. We are about 75% done with the conversion though.
we still dont have a sdk to work with so everything we do has to be done hand and anything new from scratch.

Im probably wrong but are drop shadows seperate from a dialog box? they are a graphic whose shape and size is just an off set from the box they shadow(the dialog box) so the dialog should be solid and the drop shadow should be transparent surely?

iv'e seen apps like this too, and it would be a nice feature- to just set the perameter on the image or set another layer that was just a shadow to be visible, but CF isn't like this as far as I know. [and if you could set another "shadow" image, CF wouldnt give it transparent properties anyway]

What is the base language its being written with? i was under the impression it was either C or Delphi utilising XML for skins and Java for widgets and plugins.

We are only modifying the .xml's and graphics - nothing at the core, at least not until an sdk is released.
